The last attempt of all VALORANT Champions Tour teams to qualify for VCT Champions 2023 is coming to an end, and, in the Americas, we have Leviatán pulling off a spectacular reverse sweep against Cloud9 to qualify for the VCT 2023 LCQ Americas Grand Final.

Undoubtedly, everything pointed to Cloud9 being able to bounce back from their completely unexpected loss to KRÜ Esports in the Upper Bracket. However, the South American squad showed much more determination in this match and achieved an excellent 3-2 victory.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that the remaining quota of the Americas for the VALORANT Champions 2023 will be defined between two South American teams. 100 Thieves, Sentinels, and Clou9 were left in the way of this LCQ Americas 2023.

Let’s see what happened in the match between Leviatán and Cloud9.

Leviatán apply a spectacular reverse sweep to beat Cloud9

Undoubtedly, everything pointed to Cloud9 taking the victory in this series against Leviatán, and even they were very close to achieving it. The North American squad started the Lower Bracket final extremely well, winning the first two maps. However, the South Americans woke up greatly and practically snatched a victory they had in their pockets.

It all started in Lotus, Cloud9’s map pick, where the North American squad had a spectacular attacking side to take a partial victory by 8-4. Then, in the second half, the South Americans could not do much and fell by 7-13.

Then, on the second map, Pearl, things started to change slightly, as Leviatán deployed great defense to prevent C9 attacks in the first half largely. As a result, the score ended in a 6-6 first half, which left all possibilities open in this match. However, Cloud9 excellently planted themselves in the second half and took the 13-9 win to put the South Americans in check.

Leviatán begin the comeback

In Split, the third map of the series, the teams again started with everything in the first half, and we had a partial score of 6-6. Then, in the second half, Leviatán started strong and won six of the first seven rounds to secure at least the Overtime. C9 tried to get back into the match and were up 11-12 on the scoreboard, but, Leviatán won the last round and took the win 13-11.

The fourth map, Haven, was a real madness, as, Cloud9 started with a devastating pace of play that led them to win the first half by 9-3. However, contrary to what we all thought at the time, Leviatán woke up dramatically to the change of sides and, with a relentless offense, they managed to take the victory by 10-1 in the second half and, consequently, by 13-10 on the map.

Leviatán complete reverse sweep

Finally, in Bind, the fuel ran out for the Cloud9 boys, as they demonstrated a performance far below what they had shown throughout the series. The first half was a 7-5 partial victory for the South American squad. Finally, Leviatán completed the spectacular reverse sweep with a 13-7 victory.

As a result, the last Americas quota for VALORANT Champions 2023 will be defined between two South American teams, KRÜ Esports and Leviatán.
