After 10 years of LCS competition, who deserves the title “greatest of all time”?
It’s been a decade since the foundations of the current LCS competition were set. With 20 regular splits under its belt, there was more than enough time for some players to stand out. That’s why, heading this LCS finals weekend, Riot and the LCS have released a top 10 list to commemorate the greatest LCS players of all time. A lot of notable figures in the scene have gone into dissecting the list and we are here to cover the different viewpoints.

Undisputable greats
Jeong “Impact” Eon-young is the greatest and most accomplished top laner to ever play in the LCS. Yiliang “Peter” Peng covers the same criteria for ADCs and Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg for the mid-lane. They are the best in their role but ranking them at the top of the list is completely subjective.
Overrated and underrated
Jo “CoreJJ” Yong in his prime is hard to match in terms of the impact a support role player can make. He won two LCS titles, and two LCS MVPs leading a stacked Team Liquid roster to the 2019 MSI Finals but is that enough to make you the greatest support player of all time? For comparison, CoreJJ won his awards in 2019 and Philippe ” Vulcan ” Laflamme has won three LCS titles since and is playing in his fourth finals this weekend. Are championships really that important in a team sport, where every role impacts the game differently based on meta, draft, and play style?
LCS top 10 All Time Players!
– Players were given votes & allowed to vote for themselves.
– Team owners given votes and just voted for their own players (duh).
– Dyrus given a vote & literally votes Wildturtle as the greatest ever LCS player.
Zero integrity Region.

Jake Kevin “Xmithie” Puchero also did his fair share of winning titles of baron steals and clutch team fighting. But how many of those five LCS titles were him playing bot side for Doublelift, who is contending for the top spot on this list? William “Meteos” Hartman was one of the best junglers in the world in 2013 and Robert “Blaber” Huang has won two MVPs and two LCS titles in four years of playing competitive.
Who is the GOAT?
While everyone is entitled to have their opinion, the truth is we don’t see the matches through the same set of eyes. Doublelift won eight of the 11 splits in a five-year span, but only collected one MVP during that run. Bjergsen has won four MVPs and six titles but Jensen has always outperformed him internationally.
Impact has won a Worlds Championship and is miles ahead of the second-best top laner in LCS history. But what do those stats even mean? What’s the context behind them all? Are they even important? It all depends on your perspective and how you perceived their careers in real-time.
