Week six of LCS Spring 2023 was full of surprises. The number one team in the league, FlyQuest, suffered an incredible defeat at the hands of a more modest opponent, Evil Geniuses. Because of this loss, they are now just one victory ahead of Cloud9. The two teams will face each other in the final week of the group stage.

Another team that struggled in week six of LCS Spring was 100 Thieves. Their matches were tough, but nobody expected them to lose both. As a result of those losses, 100 Thieves are now ranked seventh in the league, with a record of 5 W – 8 L. The next best team is TMS (6 W – 7 L).

Not everything is lost for 100T but the situation looks grim for them Their upcoming matches will be crucial. At least one of them will be easy to win because it’s against Dignitas (1 W – 12 L). But the other three, against TSM, Golden Guardians, and Evil Geniuses, will be challenging.

Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and his squad probably need two victories to secure a spot in the top 6. Possibly three!

Complete results

The week was dominated by Evil Geniuses. They were the only team that won both of their matches. The first victory was obtained against TSM while the second one was truly spectacular because the opponent was FlyQuest. This second match was dominated by EG almost from the start.

With the exception of a few team fights, EG played really well and had an advantage of more than 1000 gold at the 10-minute mark. Over the next 15 minutes, the team extended that advantage and got to around a 6000 gold lead. At that point, everyone knew that the game was pretty much over.

These are the complete match results for week six:

  • FlyQuest – Counter Logic Gaming: 1
  • TSM – Evil Geniuses: 2
  • 100 Thieves – Cloud9: 2
  • Golden Guardians – Team Liquid: 2
  • Dignitas – Immortals: 2
  • Counter Logic Gaming – 100 Thieves: 1
  • Cloud9 – Dignitas: 1
  • Evil Geniuses – FlyQuest: 1
  • Team Liquid – TSM: 2
  • Immortals – Golden Guardians: 2

In the rankings table, FlyQuest are unlikely to be dethroned by anyone apart from Cloud9. EG are two points below them while Golden Guardians are three points lower.

The battle for the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions is taking place between Golden Guardians, Counter Logic Gaming, TSM, and 100 Thieves.
