Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) publisher Krafton has warned third-party tournament organizations to stop holding their unfair competitions.

In an unexpected turn of events, Krafton has urged unauthorized Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) tournament organizers to stop. This information came to the public light when an official email from Krafton’s Esports team suddenly appeared online, breaking the news.

Subsequently, Lokesh “Goldy” Jain, co-owner of S8UL Esports, revealed that Krafton has asked to stop holding unofficial tournaments. However, Goldy misunderstood Krafton officials when he said that even players could not stream the game online. He and Sid later confirmed this was incorrect; the players can do so.

All unofficial tournaments are suspended

An email sent by the Krafton team to an external tournament organizer, Angry Panda Esports, has surfaced on the Internet. The email states that the tournament dates in progress by the tournament organizer (TO) were not approved by Krafton and must be stopped immediately and that it is the first and last warning to cease the event.

On the other hand, the email says:

“The tournament approval process has been put on hold until further notice, and we request that you please wait for further updates. Failure to adhere to the instructions mentioned above can have repercussions for Angry Panda Esports and their future tournaments.”

Krafton had warned the organization to stop broadcasting the game, Goldy retorted.

“Krafton ordered TOs to stop right away. Also, Krafton advised us to close all streams immediately. No one will watch. We added that anyone who streams would be sent home. leaving S8UL.”

Misunderstanding of information

After that, Goldy posted an Instagram story explaining that there had been a misunderstanding with officials and confirming that the players had permission to stream the match online.

“As discussed on my stream today, where I mentioned that players are not allowed to stream BGMI was a misunderstanding and miscommunication with the officials. Only TPT for BGMI are disallowed! Streamers/players can continue to stream classic matches!”

Siddhant “Sid” Joshi, the director of S8UL Esports, addressed the situation and declared that the team’s BGMI players would start streaming.

“Short update. A staffer from Krafton informed Goldy Bhai in the afternoon that streaming is not permitted for BGMI, as he discussed on the show. However, it was clear in the evening that third-party tournaments are no longer permitted. So starting tomorrow, our players will start streaming, but they will only perform oldies.”

Krafton has not explained why it has decided to act so soon. However, seeing what Krafton has in store for the game will be interesting.
