The IESF World Esports Championship 2023 is in full swing, and after an intense Group Stage, 12 of the 24 participating teams have sealed their ticket to the tournament playoffs. While this tournament has very few Tier 1 players participating, there is no doubt that it is a big draw for many, as it is what we consider the World Cup of CS:GO.

So far, we have seen Team Germany, Team Uzbekistan, Team Sweden, and Team Serbia dominate the four groups in the first phase. However, in these playoffs, everything starts all over again, and we are sure that we will have a lot of emotions from start to finish.

IESF World Esports Championship 2023 – Details

As we mentioned, the top 12 teams from the Group Stage are present in the tournament playoffs, which will start today, Monday, August 28, 2023, and run until September 3, when the Grand Final will be played.

The playoffs of the IESF World Esports Championship 2023 start from Round of 12, with the following matches:

  • Ukraine vs. Australia – 11:00 CEST
  • Romania vs. Czech Republic – 14:00 CEST
  • North Macedonia vs. Denmark – 17:00 CEST
  • Poland vs. Hungary – 20:00 CEST

As we have mentioned, these matches will be played today, Monday, August 28, so we invite you to follow each of them on the official IESF Twitch channels.

On the other hand, the leaders of each group, that is, Serbia, Sweden, Germany, and Uzbekistan, are waiting for the winners of the Round of 12 to dispute the tournament’s Quarterfinals.

Format and favorite teams

In the IESF World Esports Championship 2023 playoffs, we will have a Single-Elimination bracket format, where all matches are best-of-three (BO3), including the Grand Final. In addition, it is worth noting that, in this format, the team that loses a single series is immediately dismissed from the tournament.

On the other hand, speaking of the favorite teams, we will mention those that dominated the Group Stage, since they have a lineup with some players who compete at the highest professional level.
