Gucci and ESL FACEIT release esports documentary series

Two huge and famous organizations have joined forces again! A few days ago, a new short documentary series called GG Legends was announced. The main sponsors of this production will be none other than the popular and luxurious Italian fashion brand Gucci and the leading esports tournament organization ESL FACEIT Group.

This documentary series goes hand in hand with some of the greatest success stories that have ever existed in esports history. It is mainly based on those stories of overcoming the odds to achieve greatness in today’s popular esports scene.

The episodes of the series have three key themes:

• Passion
• Struggle
• Determination

Every human being must have three fundamental aspects to succeed in any environment that is considered challenging. It can be in people’s real life or their professional life.

This does not stop there; in addition to Gucci and ESL FACEIT Group, in this series, we will have different protagonists that, without a doubt, make there a much greater expectation around it:

• Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden: Esports presenter.
• Mathieu “Zywoo” Herbaut: Second best CS:GO player in the world, according to HLTV.
• Aerial Powers: WNBA superstar and Team Liquid ambassadress.

In each episode, we will develop the path that each of these protagonists had to overcome to establish themselves at the top. As well as a profound reflection on their personal stories.

First episode of the series: Sheever

The first GG Legends episode premiered on February 9th on Gucci’s official YouTube channel and is titled: Sheever. This episode tells the whole untold story of Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden, one of the scene’s most experienced and respected esports presenters.

In the episode, we watch as Sheever opens up and tells all about her breast cancer diagnosis and her journey within the esports world as a presenter. This first episode teaches overcoming and demonstrates that anyone who suffers from any disease does not have to give up and let the disease define them or determine their identity.

Remaining episodes of GG Legends

The second episode of the series premieres in the coming months and will be about Mathieu “Zywoo” Herbaut, one of the most important players in the history of CS:GO. ZywOo became the youngest player invited to the ESL Pro League when he was only 16. However, the player turned it down and prioritized his studies until he turned 18 and joined Team Vitality.

Now, ZywOo is considered the second-best CS:GO player in the world, and, without a doubt, he is one of the examples to be followed by the entire esports community.

Finally, the other episode will be about WNBA star Aerial Powers. The 2019 WNBA Championship winner has been an enthusiastic video game player since childhood. Moreover, as we mentioned, she is an ambassador for Team Liquid, a popular esports organization in North America and the world.

On the other hand, Aerial is also the president of Diversity and Inclusion, a working group in charge of creating spaces for women and people of color within esports.

There is no doubt that this is an excellent initiative by ESL FACEIT Group and Gucci, two leading brands in their independent markets, coming together to raise awareness in the esports community, which is often labeled as toxic and intolerant.
