GTA 6 leaks appear on TikTok – is developer’s son to blame?

A seven-second TikTok video purporting to be a first look at GTA 6 has caused a furor, sparking rumors that the leaked footage is from the son of a Rockstar developer. The short sequence provides fascinating insights into the city center of Vice City and contains details about the game’s map.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited games ever. There have already been countless false leaks that have caused plenty of speculation in the community. Everyone has been waiting patiently for the official announcement of the game. Now, however, a leak has surprised everyone with the publication of game footage and information about the maps.

GTA 6 leaks go viral – but what content is involved?

Alleged videos and details about the gameplay of GTA 6 are currently circulating on social media, generating a lot of interest on TikTok in particular. The material is said to provide an insight into an early version of the game and shows parts of the recreation of Vice City.

The footage shows a metropolitan area of Vice City from an early stage of the game’s development. The camera is moving freely and does not concentrate on a character. A series of developer notes can be seen at the bottom of the screen.

It’s not a big reveal, but that doesn’t stop fans from comparing the leaked footage to previous leaks.
Some things match up, and some of the buildings are identical to the others. The alleged leaks also give us some information about the game’s map. It looks like there will be three cities with four sub-cities. It will be double the size of Los Santos.

Who is the mysterious leaker and how does he know Garbut?

The interesting thing is that there could be a clue to the source of the leak: The son of Rockstar North’s head of development, Aaron Garbut, is said to be involved in the leak. This information comes from the TikTok user who uploaded the material and claims to know Garbut’s son. This unknown person, who is the new GTA leaker claims to know the son of Garbut, but also states that they are not to himself. Strangely enough, this person writes in the comments that “he is the coolest guy he ever met”.

This unknown user has also uploaded a slideshow, that is showing areas that do not appear in GTA 5, as well as sports cars.

Screenshots were also posted of a conversation with the son of Garbut himself, in which he seems to confirm that the leaks are real. He confirmed that the sub-cities in the game will all be surrounded by a “large lake in the center of the map”.

An official statement from Rockstar Games is still pending, but it looks like the company is trying to have the leaked videos removed as soon as possible.
