GES 23 arrives in Barcelona

The largest international esports congress in Europe is the Global Esports Summit (GES), an event that brings together esports professionals worldwide. This time, it will be held in Barcelona.

The Hyatt Regency Tower is the chosen venue for the conference. It is anticipated that more than 900 professionals from 30 different countries will attend the conference; an occasion of this stature will strengthen Barcelona’s standing as one of the world’s premier gaming towns.

Global Esports Summit

The Global Esports Summit has already been welcomed in Spain, and Madrid has been the city hosting the previous editions. However, GES picked Barcelona as the location this year after the thematic edition of GESX in December of last year was a huge success and had a lot of support from institutions, businesses, and organizations.

The PuntCat Foundation’s mediation, which aimed to persuade the congress’s organizers to select this new location, played a significant role in the choice.

The GES 23 will have a concept of “entertainment” and will offer two rigorous days this year. The focus of the event is knowledge exchange through multiple conferences. Numerous experts will participate in these conferences. The main topics to be addressed are:

• Ecosystem of esports
• Innovation in the industry
• Encouraging entrepreneurship in esports

In addition, all the trends in the sector will be presented.

On the other hand, the congress will form a network of networking contacts among the people attending the event.

The congress will have different areas of activities. For example, commercial and business presentations are held on the first day. All of these will take place in the main auditorium of the Hyatt Regency Tower. The second day’s activities will take place in this same auditorium.

Like its previous iteration, GES23 will contain a sizable common area with corporate spaces, an exhibition area, and open and premium networking rooms.

The novelty of GES23 will be the GESX area, a presentation space where events and meetings of institutions, workshops, and special seminars will be held.

A press and content area will also be set up for media professionals to conduct interviews, streamings, and programs. In addition, as in previous versions, a VIP area will be set up for meetings with speakers and authorities.

This edition is expected to present the most creative partnership profile within the ecosystem, both endemic and non-endemic, with essential participation from Latin America.
