The first important tournament of this offseason of VCT 2023, the Red Bull Home Ground #4, is history, and we have Fnatic crowned champion after beating Cloud9 3-2 in the Grand Final.

We observed that it was an extremely close Grand Final, even where Cloud9 was close to taking the victory by 3-1. However, Fnatic pulled out the chest to take the victories in maps 4 and 5 and thus take the champion’s trophy.

On the other hand, we have that this Red Bull Home Ground #4 had the highest level teams as main exponents, that is, the TOP teams of all VCT regions. Likewise, this is just a sign that Fnatic maintains its great level again and that they are preparing in the best possible way for the next VCT season.

Fnatic beats Cloud9 3-2 crowned Red Bull Home Ground #4 champions

There is no doubt that we expected a series of the highest level, and so we had it, as, this time, we enjoyed the excellent victory of Fnatic by 3-2, in circumstances in which they came to be against the ropes. Cloud9, on the other hand, showed great competitive momentum, and they have a lot of merit. However, beating Fnatic, as we know, is a complicated task.

The Grand Final between Cloud9 and Fnatic was played on Bind, Breeze, Ascent, Lotus, and Haven.

Bind

It all started on Bind, Cloud9’s map pick, where Fnatic pulled out their chest to take an excellent 13-7 win and give a VALORANT masterclass.

The match started with Cloud9 in an excellent pace of play and was 5-1 ahead on the scoreboard. However, Fnatic woke up to hit back and equalize the first half by 6-6. Then, as the sides switched sides, Fnatic’s attacking side was impressive as they won 7 out of 8 rounds to take a resounding 13-7 victory.

Breeze

In the second map, Breeze, things started just as balanced as in the first map since the first half ended with the score 6-6.

However, this time, we have that Cloud9’s defense woke up and managed to avoid Fnatic’s approaches to win 7 out of 10 rounds, thus equalizing the series 1-1.

Ascent

In the third map, Ascent, we witnessed almost a replica of what happened in Breeze, as both halves ended with the same score.

Cloud9 started their second map pick with a spectacular offensive, winning the first 5 rounds. However, Fnatic reacted immediately to win 6 of 7 rounds to even the score 6-6.

Then, at the change of sides, exactly the same thing happened as in Breeze: after 10 rounds played, Cloud9 took 7 of them to close the map with a 13-9 victory and take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Lotus

In the fourth map, Lotus, we lived a real madness since Cloud9 seemed to have everything to take the victory. However, Fnatic reacted in time to take the victory and force the fifth map.

In the first half, Cloud9 started on the right foot by taking a narrow 7-5 victory. However, at the change of sides, Fnatic hit back in a big way, again on their attacking side, winning 8 rounds to take the 13-8 victory and even the series 2-2.

Haven

Finally, in Haven, we enjoyed a battle in which Fnatic played their hearts out to take the victory and be crowned tournament champions.

In the first half, Fnatic was again relentless in their attacking side and took a tight 7-5 victory. However, at the change of sides, it was all Black & Orange squad, as they won the first 6 rounds on their defensive side to take the map victory by 13-5 and thus proclaim themselves champions of Red Bull Home Grounds #4.
