The Spanish League of Legends team, Team Heretics, plans to make a clean slate for the LEC Summer Split 2023. According to several reports in the last few hours, former LEC champion Victor “Flakked” Lirola is expected to join the team in the coming days.

There is no doubt that these moves, as in other LEC organizations, are more than expected, as Split has not been a very good one for the Spanish organization. However, on the other hand, for many, Flakked’s talent was completely wasted in Los Heretics, the Team Heretics academy team, as we all know what this Spanish botlaner is capable of.

Flakked to be promoted to Team Heretics’ main squad

According to investigative journalist Marián “Eros” Stoica, Team Heretics is considering promoting former LEC champion Flakked to the main team for the Summer Split 2023. In addition, it is also reported that Jakob “Jackspektra” Kepple would be demoted to the team’s academy.

There is no doubt that this news can make many Team Heretics fans happy, but, above all, it will make Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, with whom Flakked managed to become Spring Split 2022 champion with G2 Esports, happy. In addition, it is worth noting that Flakked also played MSI 2022 and Worlds 2022 during his time at G2. However, the team could not exceed the expectations set and decided to make a lineup change.

As mentioned, the 2023 season has been a complete disaster for Team Heretics. First, in the Winter Split, the Spanish team could advance to the Group Stage, but in the group stage, they lost both matches they played and were eliminated from the tournament. Then, in the Spring Split, the result was even worse, as they failed to advance to the group stage and finished in ninth place in the table.

As a result, it is expected that the organization is thinking of making radical changes in its lineup for the Summer Split now that they will have about a month to prepare.

Jackspektra didn’t perform poorly

While it is true that Jackspektra did not have a bad performance in the two Splits the team played in 2023, as we know, LoL is a team game, and the overall results count, not individual ones. During the Spring Split, Jackspektra had a K/D/A of 4.4, a very good record considering he ranked fifth in the league’s AD Carry players.

Finally, everything points to Flakked returning to the top tier of the European League of Legends, and together with Jankos, they hope to take Team Heretics to the top, as they did with G2 Esports in 2022. On the other hand, we will have to wait for the official confirmation from Team Heretics because, so far, rumors point to this movement.
