The shocking news of the passing of MLBB coach Ivan “Navi” Gacho at the age of 24 and of Nexplay EVOS boot camp manager Charles Dave “Chad” Dela Peña at the age of 27 rocked the Philippine Mobile Legends scene.

Ivan Emmanuel “Navi” Gacho and Charles Dave “Chad” Dela Peña, two prominent figures in the Filipino Mobile Legends (MLBB) esports community, have both passed away. The official national MLBB league in the nation, MPL Philippines, paid respect to the two players on social media who have made a lasting impression on the professional arena.

The Philippine esports community lost two veterans

The RSG Ignite Coach died from fatal arrhythmia, a condition in which a person has an abnormal heartbeat, according to Navi’s sibling Isidro Erickson Gacho III. Fatal arrhythmia can have disastrous effects, including heart failure, sudden cardiac death, and stroke. Any person experiencing a fatal arrhythmia may die if a normal cardiac rhythm is not restored within a few minutes.

During Seasons 2 to Season 4, Navi played professionally for Finesse Solid and Sterling Global Dragons in the MPL Philippines, where he teamed up with Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, two-time global champion and a star jungler of ECHO.

Soon after, the pro player temporarily disappeared from the scene before making a comeback as the head coach of RSG Slate Ignite, which finished between fifth and sixth in the first MDL PH season. It is hardly surprising that many of his fellow players regard him as their mentor since he contributed significantly to the game’s national popularity.

Chad, on the other hand, was a former manager of the Nexplay EVOS boot camp and had been an elder brother to many MPL players like Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse and John Paul “H2Wo” Salonga. Chad and Navi’s untimely passing is definitely a big loss for the Mobile Legends scene in the Philippines.

The Filipino MLBB community has expressed their sorrow and shared recollections of their memories with Chad and Coach Navi in response to the shocking news of their demise. Numerous MLBB figures and organizations in the Philippines also posted on social media to pay their respects to the late coach and veteran Chad.

Navi’s former teammates Steven “Dale” Vitug, Rico “Levi” Esto, and Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo posted their condolences and remembered how great a friend Navi was to them. Popular organization including Blacklist International, ECHO, and MPL Philippines also sent their sympathies to the family and friends of the late coach.
