Evil Geniuses to replace Detonate at Paris Major Americas RMR

It’s no secret that the CS:GO division of Evil Geniuses is going through some tough times, and an opportunity like this could revive the team for the remainder of the season.

Detonate announces it can’t play the Paris Major Americas RMR due to lineup issues

Detonate, a team that had hard-earned their place in the Paris Major Americas RMR, will not be able to be part of the qualifying tournament because two of their players cannot travel to Monterrey, Mexico.

The players who cannot attend the tournament are Jack “micro” Ryan and Brett “brett” Rhein. Micro has problems with his passport, so traveling to Mexico would be impossible. At the same time, Brett has health problems that have arisen in recent days.

This news, without a doubt, is a hard blow for this team that finished in the fifth position of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: North American RMR Qualifier. In addition, they managed to beat established teams such as ATK and Nouns.

Detonate gives up its place in the tournament

According to the official tournament rules, teams can only have one substitute player, and no emergency changes are allowed in the starting lineups. As a result, Detonate will have to give up its place in the Paris Major Americas RMR.

However, the official BLAST rules ensure that if one of the teams cannot participate or declines the invitation to the tournament, the next qualified team will take its place. As a result, Evil Geniuses, disappointed in this closed qualifier and finished in eighth place, will take place left by Detonate.
