The emotions of VALORANT Champions 2023 continue, and after an intense match in the final of the Lower Bracket, the North American squad, Evil Geniuses, defeated LOUD 3-2 to seal their ticket to the tournament’s Grand Final.

This is nothing more than a new surprise in the VALORANT competitive scene since we all thought that, after eliminating Fnatic, the Brazilian squad would be the strong candidate to lift the champions trophy. On the other hand, Evil Geniuses showed great determination in the match, as they knew how to stop the Brazilians in what looked like a spectacular comeback.

Now, EG will play in the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final against Paper Rex, the team that has shown the most consistency throughout the event.

Let’s see what happened in the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs Lower Bracket Final match between EG and LOUD.

Evil Geniuses secure their ticket to the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final after beating LOUD

There is no doubt that we all expected LOUD to pull out all the stops to take a comfortable victory in this series. However, Evil Geniuses proved that their level of play is no coincidence, and they pulled off an excellent 3-2 victory to secure their ticket to the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final.

The series was played in Ascent, Lotus, Pearl, Split and Bind.

Ascent

It all started in Ascent, EG’s first map pick, where the North American squad had to fight to get the first victory. Things were very even in the first half, but EG overcame LOUD’s defense to take a partial victory by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, the Brazilian squad woke up and paid with the same coin since, after a 7-5, they evened the score by 12-12 and forced Overtime.

Finally, after two rounds in Overtime, Evil Geniuses took the victory by 14-12 in the first map of the Lower Bracket final.

Lotus

The teams moved to Lotus, the LOUD map pick, where EG more than proved their extraordinary level of play by putting a real beating on the Brazilians. The North American squad started the map with an incredible level of play, and with a 10-2 score, they were practically assured of victory. Finally, at the change of sides, LOUD only won 2 of the 5 rounds that were played to lose by 4-13. As a result, EG was up 2-0 in the series and had three chances to take the win.

Pearl

The third map, Pearl, began with the spectacular awakening of the Brazilians, as, after an intense and aggressive offense, they managed to take the partial victory in the first half by 9-3. Then, when the sides changed, EG tried to hit back and won 5 of the first 6 rounds played. However, this remained there, as LOUD could take the win by 13-8 and thus put the series 1-2.

Split

The fourth map, Split, witnessed another victory for LOUD, where they relied, for the second map in a row, on an impressive attacking side in the first half. As a result, the Brazilian squad started the second half of the match with a 9-3 lead. Finally, after 8 rounds in the second half, LOUD evened the series 2-2 with an excellent 13-7 victory.

Bind

The last and decisive map, Bind, was full of many emotions from start to finish, as Evil Geniuses was able to wake up in the first half to take a tight 7-5 partial victory. Then, the North American defense was practically impenetrable at the change of sides. After 9 disputed rounds, EG managed to take the victory by 13-8 and thus secured their ticket to the Grand Final of the VALORANT Champions 2023.
