The emotions of the ESL Pro League S18 playoffs continue, and, even though CS2 is already available for everyone, ESL decided to continue the tournament in CS:GO, as it is the most logical thing to do and, besides, it would not be a hard blow for the teams that are still alive.

Now, last September 27, we had 4 intense matches, which resulted in excellent victories for Eternal Fire and Movistar Riders to secure their tickets to the quarterfinals. On the other hand, this means the farewell of BIG and 9z Team from this ESL Pro League S18.

Eternal Fire continues with impressive play, winning their fourth match in a row. Meanwhile, Movistar Riders ended 9z Team’s South American dream.

Let’s see what happened in EF and Movistar Riders’ matches in the ESL Pro League S18 Round of 12.

Eternal Fire crush BIG by 2-0

The Truca squad continues to show an amazing level of play in this ESL Pro League S18, and after an excellent series against BIG, they managed to take a solid 2-0 victory to seal their ticket to the tournament’s Quarterfinals.

It all started at Vertigo, Eternal Fire’s map pick, where we witnessed a spectacular comeback by the Turkish team. In the first half, BIG’s boys achieved a resounding 11-4 partial victory, which was undoubtedly really important. However, at the change of sides, Eternal Fire woke up and hit back in a great way, taking an excellent 12-3 victory to complete the comeback by 16-14.

The teams then moved to Anubis, BIG’s map pick, where things stayed the same as the second half in Vertigo, with EF setting the tone for the match. In the first half, the Turks took the partial victory by 11-4 and then, at the change of sides, sealed their victory by 16-10 after 11 rounds in which they had a 6-5 partial in their favor.

Movistar Riders beat 9z Team 2-1

In a Spanish-speaking duel, the Spanish Movistar Riders defeated the South American squad, 9z Team, with a solid score of 2-1. Undoubtedly, the Riders had everything to take the victory and, above all, the label of favorites. However, the South Americans put up a good fight and came close to pulling off an upset.

It all started in Nuke, 9z Team’s map pick, where we enjoyed a really interesting back-and-forth match. The Spanish team partially won by 8-7 in the first half. Then, at the change of sides, we enjoyed again a tight and balanced match, but after 14 rounds (8-6), Movistar Riders sealed the victory by 16-13.

On the second map, Anubis, things changed completely; this time, the South Americans stepped up to take a first-half victory by 8-7. However, at the change of sides, the 9z Team maintained their determination and high level of play to take the victory by 16-12 and even the series 1-1.

Finally, Ancient was the map that defined the series, where Movistar Riders struck the lethal blow to win the series 2-1 and eliminate 9z Team from the ESL Pro League S18. In the first half, just like the first two maps, the score was 8-7 in favor of Riders this time. Finally, at the change of sides, the South American defense could not do much against the Spanish attacks and conceded by 9-16.
