Having missed the last few weeks of action as a result of being on paternity leave for some time, Lukas “g1a1ve” Rossander has returned to the Astralis active roster, just in time for the PGL Stockholm Major. The in-game leader will be a welcome returnee for the organization, who suffered back to back defeats against ENCE and Vitality at the Intel Extreme Masters XVI – Fall: Europe.

The CS:GO veteran Dane, who has been with Astralis since back in 2016, will replace Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen at the PGL Major Stockholm, which is the most anticipated CS:GO tournament of 2021 to date. Astralis had been keeping things on the down low in terms of its roster for the event. However, fans were anticipating the return of g1a1ve for the event, especially given the $2 million in prize money that is up for grabs.

When Will We See g1a1ve in Action Next?

With the event set to get underway on October 26, starting with the Challengers Stage, fans will not have to wait long to see g1a1ve in action once again. 16 teams will compete in the opening stage of the event in total, including Astralis, with just half progressing to the Legends Stage.

Speaking on the announcement, Astralis Director of Esports Kasper Hvidt, stated that: “Danny and I have had a good talk with Lucas [Bubzkji] around the decision. He is disappointed, but he also knows he is a big part of the team, and he will give his best to help out. I have tremendous respect for a player and person like Lucas, however, we will always set the team we believe has the best chances to go all the way.”

How the Astralis CS:GO Roster Looks at Present

The return of g1a1ve also means that Emil “Magisk” Reif will no longer be acting as in-game leader, which could be a real blessing in disguise for Astralis. Magisk and g1a1ve have formed the core of the Astralis lineup over recent times, along with Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth.

The quarter has won the last three CS:GO Majors together. Meanwhile, the sixth member of the Astralis roster, Philip “Lucky” Ewald, has been involved every tournament since arriving during the summer player break. Astralis has dealt with the departures of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and Patrick “es3tag” Hansen over the past 12 months, with the team now looking to recement itself at the top of the CS:GO scene.
