Fragster Dota 2 League launched!

The last year ended with a heavy blow for the German Dota 2 scene. The ESL Meisterschaft announced the end of its Dota 2 division and with it the end of the only German Dota 2 league. The reason for this was, among other things, the lack of viewer numbers.

After weeks and months of planning, we are now happy to announce that Germany has a Dota 2 league again because we are launching the Fragster Dota 2 league! Are you in a team and think you can hold a candle to the rest of the DACH scene? Then take the chance and register now.

Favorite Dota 2 league

The Fragster Dota 2 League starts on February 6. The only question is who is playing? Basically, any team that wants to and has a complete DACH team can qualify. This is particularly important to us in order to create an authentic national league. 

Of course, there should also be something to win! In addition to a lot of fame, the teams play for €2,000 in prize money in the first season.

The qualifier

From January 27 to 29, we are hosting the qualifier for the four slots in the Fragster Dota 2 league. We deliberately put the qualifier on the weekend to give everyone who is interested the opportunity to take part. It starts on Friday, January 27 at 7 PM CET and continues the next day at 1 PM CET.

We keep Sunday free, depending on how many teams register and whether games are still open. We’ll keep you updated on this on Twitter. The matches are all played in a double-elimination format.

In addition to the four slots available via qualifier, there will be four seeded teams, which are to be revealed soon. Of course, that depends on how many teams remain together after the end of the ESL championship, etc.

How to register

Signing up couldn’t be easier. Just join the Fragster Discord Server via this link. Once you are on the server you can give yourself the Dota role. Then you should see the “Registration Qualifier” channel. Here you simply write that you want to participate in the league.

Dota 2 is one of the most important esports titles ever. We hope to bring a little more life into the German Dota 2 scene with our league after the general focus has been on other games in recent years.
