The emotions of the ESL Pro League S18 continue, and after two really exciting matches, we already know the four semifinalists of the tournament. One of these matches in the Quarterfinals left us with a crushing victory of ENCE against Movistar Riders by 2-0.

It is not only the fact of the 2-0 victory, as in this ESL Pro League S18, we have seen many convincing victories by a clean sweep. But the Spanish squad was outclassed at all times and on all fronts by the guys from ENCE, as they could not win more than 5 rounds in any of the two maps they played.

On the other hand, this reunion of Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia with his former team, the Movistar Riders, was really good, as he was the series MVP with 96.9 ADR and a 1.72 Rating.

Let’s see what happened in the match between ENCE and Movistar Riders in the ESL Pro League S18 quarterfinals.

ENCE apply a clean sweep against Movistar Riders

While it is true that ENCE were clear favorites to win this series, no one imagined it would be with such supremacy against the Spanish squad. After 2 maps, ENCE achieved a clean sweep in this series and did not allow Movistar Riders to win more than 5 rounds.

The series took place in Overpass and Anubis.

Overpass

It all started at Overpass, the map pick of Movistar Riders, where we saw an extremely superior ENCE that got an easy and comfortable win.

In the first half, SunPayus and Paweł “dycha” Dycha took full control of the CT Side to prevent each and every Movistar Riders approach to take a comfortable 13-2 partial victory. Moreover, remember that a 13-2 is complicated to come back in these instances of the competition.

Then, Movistar Riders’ defense did not hold ENCE for a single round at the change of sides. After only 3 rounds, the European international squad took a solid 16-2 victory to start the series on the right foot.

Anubis

Then, the teams moved to Anubis, ENCE’s map pick, where we had more emotions because 3 more rounds were contested than in the first map.

It all started with ENCE winning the first 8 rounds in the first half of their CT Side, which undoubtedly gave them much confidence for the rest of the map. However, Movistar Riders woke up to win 5 of the last 7 rounds of this first half.

However, at the change of sides, ENCE overcame all the Spanish defensive approaches for the second consecutive map to win the first 6 rounds, thus sealing their victory by 16-5.
