Dr. Disrespect launches own game studio Midnight Society

The well-known mustachioed streamer is launching his own game studio Midnight Society, returning to his earlier career as a game developer. Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has been quietly working on a new project for quite some time, while building a new fanbase on Youtube Gaming. It already came to light a few months ago that the doc was working on something big on the side when he published a post looking for a game developer.

It became clear then that he still has big things in mind, which have now been put into action. The whole project is called AAA game studio Midnight Society and was built by Herschel “Guy” Beahm aka the Doc himself, Robert Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo. The three have collected plenty of experience in game development and will now combine their expertise to create new multiplayer games. Titles they have worked on already include Halo, Call of Duty and Gears of War.

Old friends, new projects

The new AAA game studio is a project that has been in the works for quite a long time. Robert Bowling and Doc Disrespect still know each other from their developer days, when they worked together on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at the same company and when Doc was not yet at the height of his current streamer career.
Robert Bowling worked at Infinity Ward for 6 years and later founded his own developer studio Robotoki.

The two have known each other for more than 10 years now, and although their professional paths eventually diverged, they always kept in touch and discussed how to improve games even further – thus laying the foundation for their current studio, so to speak. Later, the two met DelHoyo, who joined the industry in 2010 and worked on Gears of War, among other projects.

From game developer to streamer to game studio owner

Dr Disrespect worked for Sledgehammer Games for quite some time and was later hired as a level designer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Then, almost seven years ago, he left his steady job to pursue his streamer activity as Dr Disrespect full time. Now the three have combined their talents to form a new studio.

In addition to the three founders, Ryan Thompson is also listed as gameplay engineer and Eric Hallquist as concept artist. Sumit Gupta is listed as another CEO. We are excited to see what games await us in the future from Dr. Disrespect’s game studio.
