iceiceice takes time out to relax
Despite being one of the most popular Dota 2 players on the scene, Daryl “iceiceice” Koh is left without a team, following his departure from SMG, with whom he played only for 3 months. A few days ago during his Twitch stream, the 32-year-old Singaporean was asked about his future plans in professional Dota 2. He confirmed that he has no plans at the moment.
“I don’t think I’m doing anything,” said iceiceice. “After what happened in SMG, I decided I wanted to take a break. Now, I want to take a longer break so I can figure out what I want to do.”
During his break, iceiceice plans to stream a bit of Dota 2, but also play other games, relax, and enjoy his freedom. The player also revealed his decision was influenced by the ordeal he endured with SMG, which he described as “pretty crappy”.
What exactly happened at SMG is not entirely clear, but the organization is definitely not without controversy. Earlier this year, the org came under fire for the treatment of Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr., who was allegedly kicked out of the line-up because he wanted to spend more time with his dying mother.

Around the world
Throughout his 11-year career, iceiceice tried his skill in all major competitive regions. He played for Vici Gaming in China, with Fnatic in Southeast Asia, with Evil Geniuses in North America, and with Team Secret in Europe, among others. He is a very flexible player and thanks to his ventures to various regions, he has gained a lot of valuable experience that not many players have. After his break, he will definitely be a hot candidate for organizations.
