The excitement surrounding the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 is growing as popular teams like Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports, EG, and Talon Esports secure their spots in the second Major of the year.

As we get closer to the second Major of the season, which is scheduled to take place in Berlin, the Dota 2 world is pumped to see more action. The ESL One Berlin Major 2023, which begins on April 27, will pit 18 Dota 2 teams against one another for a $500K huge prize pool and 2700 DPC points, which will help them in their pursuit of a spot at The International 2023.

There will be three phases to the competition: the group stage, playoffs, and finals. The first two stages will take place behind closed doors, with the final taking place in the Velodrome Arena in front of fans, transforming the iconic indoor cycling venue into a skirmishing battlefield.

Format

  • The 18 competing teams will be split into two groups of nine teams each for the group stage.
  • One round-robin will be used for the group stage.
  • All group stage fixtures will be best-of-two.
  • The top six teams from each group move on to a double-elimination bracket.
  • The top four seeds move directly into the upper bracket.
  • Each group’s fifth and sixth-placed team advances to the lower bracket.
  • A double-elimination bracket will be employed for the playoffs.
  • All matches will be best-of-three encounters, except for the best-of-five Grand Finals.

Schedule

The Dota 2 Berlin Major 2023 schedule hasn’t been fully released, and more information about the fixtures and the playoff bracket is expected to be revealed as the event gets closer. The Group Stage will start on April 26 and end on April 30, while the 12-team double elimination playoffs will take place from May 2-4, according to the official release. May 5 marks the start of the final phase, which will feature a live audience, and May 7 marks the conclusion with the grand finals.
