As in Europe, in the NA region, we also had an extraordinary Grand Final to define the last qualifier for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2023.

Complexity annihilated all Team Liquid’s hopes in this opportunity by beating them with an excellent score of 2-0. Moreover, it is not only that COL won by 2-0, but they did it crushingly without leaving space for COL to react and hit back.

On the other hand, we mention this because Team Liquid, surprisingly, could not win more than 4 rounds in any of the two maps, undoubtedly the “easiest” series that COL played in this tournament.

As a result, Complexity maintains its excellent level of play over the last weeks to take the last ticket to the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2023. Meanwhile, Team Liquid must be thinking about what to do shortly, as they currently have only 4 players in their active roster.

Let’s see what happened in the Grand Final between Complexity and Team Liquid.

Complexity crushes Team Liquid in the Grand Final of BLAST Fall Showdown 2023 in NA

While we were all expecting a very balanced series, COL saw this was not the case. From the beginning of the series, Complexity’s squad looked extremely confident and, above all, with incredible conviction. As a result, they managed to crush Team Liquid 2-0 to take the last available spot for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2023.

The series was played at Anubis and Inferno.

Anubis

It all started at Anubis, Complexity’s map pick, where everything started very well, but it ended badly for Team Liquid’s guys.

Team Liquid started off well in the first half by winning the first two rounds on their CT Side. However, that stopped there, as from that point on, COL started to crack Liquid’s defense to the point of winning 11 of the next 13 rounds that were played. As a result, COL took a solid 11-4 partial victory.

Then, as the sides switched sides, Complexity’s defense was phenomenal in fending off Liquid’s attacks in the first 5 rounds, and they quickly sealed their 16-4 victory.

Inferno

On the second map, Inferno, things stayed the same as on Anubis, as COL started the map in a great way with a 13-2 partial victory. As we know, coming back from 13-2 down in Tier 1 tournaments is tough, and if you’re up against a team as inspired as COL, it’s that much tougher.

Then, at the change of sides, we saw how Team Liquid’s morale was completely down, and after only 3 rounds, Complexity got the victory by 16-2. As a result, COL secured first place in this online tournament and, most importantly, the last available spot for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2023.

On the other hand, mention must be made to Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, who finished the series with 107.8 ADR and 1.70 Rating.
