After several days of intense emotions, Astralis and Cloud9 fulfilled the predictions that placed them as favorites of the Brazy Party and are the tournament’s finalists. Now, one of the two teams will be crowned champion of this online tournament and, in addition, will win a juicy prize of $133,000.

Likewise, much credit must be given to both OG and 9INE, who gave their all in every match to try to take the victories. Undoubtedly, Astralis and C9 fully deserve to be in these final stages, as both have shown an excellent level in the tournament.

Now, let’s see what happened in the Brazy Party semifinal matches.

Astralis crush 9INE 2-0

The Danes managed to extinguish the Poles’ dream in the Brazy Party’s semifinals with a 2-0 victory. Benjamin “blameF” Bremer was undoubtedly the player who made the difference during the whole series.

The semifinal between Astralis and 9INE was played on Vertigo (9INE) and Ancient (Astralis).

Vertigo

It all started at 9INE’s map pick, Vertigo, where both teams delighted us with a spectacular level of play. Kacper “Kylar” Walukiewicz and blameF took their teams by the hand in the first map of the series. First, we saw 9INE go ahead on the scoreboard in the first half on the T-side, 4-1. Then, Astralis responded to take a 5-4 lead, and, from this moment on, the give-and-take began for both teams, who ended the first half with a close score of 8-7.

In the second half, we observed an identical development, as 9INE again started very strong and was 13-8 ahead on the scoreboard. However, Astralis woke up and hit back in such a way that they sent the game to Overtime.

Finally, Astralis won 22-19 to take the first map of the semifinals.

Ancient

In Ancient, we saw a completely different story, as the Danes dominated the map from the beginning to have peace of mind in the second half. Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander (108.1 ADR and 1.68 Rating) and blameF (99.5 ADR and 1.51 Rating) were in charge of leading Astralis to a 12-3 partial T-side victory.

At the change of sides, the Poles tried to wake up at all costs and won the first three rounds on the T-side. However, Astralis strengthened their defense and managed to win the remaining four rounds to finish the map with a comfortable 16-7 victory.

Cloud9 defeated OG with a reverse sweep included

There is no doubt that this series was really exciting and, in addition, two of its maps were defined in Overtime. OG started hitting first on Inferno very strong, but Cloud9 woke up and applied a flawless reverse sweep to take the victory by 2-1.

The series was played on Inferno (OG), Overpass (C9), and Ancient (decider).

Inferno

It all started at Inferno, OG’s map pick, where the boys showed great responsiveness, led by Abdul “degster” Gasanov.

OG managed to deploy a great T-side offense on their map pick to take a 9-6 partial victory. When we all thought Cloud9 had given up after losing the second round after a solid OG defense, Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov managed to wake up his team, and they managed even to score 15-15. Finally, after a single Overtime round, OG won 19-17.

Overpass

After some eye problems, Abay “HObbit” Khassenov had to come out of the C9 lineup for the second map. In his place, Timofey “interz” Yakushin had to make an unexpected return to the team after being kicked out several months ago. However, the player had a great performance and helped Cloud9 to take a comfortable 16-11 victory.

Ancient

As the Tweet above shows, HObbit quickly recovered from his eye problems and returned to the third map, Ancient.

As in Inferno, both teams gave us an exceptional level of play from the start of the map. Cloud9 took a narrow 8-7 partial victory in the first half, with Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov leading the way (97.2 ADR and 1.49 Rating). However, in the second half, OG managed to circumvent Cloud9’s defense perfectly and got to 15-12 ahead on the scoreboard. Moreover, they were very close to signing their victory.

However, C9 was able to take the game to Overtime thanks to an excellent play by HObbit. Finally, C9 recovered from a bitter pill on this map and took the 19-16 victory to qualify for the Brazy Party Grand Final.
