Chronicle demonstrates a high-level game at VCT Masters Tokyo

There is no doubt that, in recent times, we have seen different teams being charged by their star players at VALORANT tournaments in the top tier of the competitive scene; from Tyson “TenZ” Ngo with Sentinels in the 2021 season to the ruthless level of play of Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker with OpTic Gaming and later Cloud9.

However, currently, we have to highlight, almost obligatorily, one who, without a doubt, stands head and shoulders above anyone else in the VALORANT competitive scene, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov. Chronicle is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and, of course, of Fnatic, a team that is considered the best in the world.

Chronicle and Fnatic sweep their rivals in 2023

While the year may still be six months away, there is no doubt that Fnatic, hand in hand with Chronicle, has managed to dominate the competitive scene in EMEA and worldwide. The 20-year-old Russian currently ranks among the top six players in all major categories in the VALORANT stats lineup. This may be common, as Chronicle is a starting player, but being in all categories shows us his great ability within the games.

Moreover, when it comes to international tournaments, in this case, the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 and the Masters Tokyo 2023, Chronicle has been one of the pillars of Fnatic to take them to the Grand Final of both tournaments. For example, we can mention a spectacular play in the UB final of the recent Masters Tokyo against EG, where Chronicle made a spectacular retake on Split.

Like these, many more plays we had from Chronicle at Masters Tokyo, where Fnatic lifted their second international trophy of 2023.

Chronicle’s incredible stats

Now, considering that the Grand Final match between EG and Fnatic was the worst match of the whole tournament for Chronicle, the following stats should be highlighted:

  • Third best Rating with 1.21
  • Sixth best in ACS with 236.8
  • Third-best K/D Ratio with 1.33
  • Second best in KDA with 2.18

Chronicle has always been topping the stats on every team he has represented. When the Russian played for Gambit Esports, he was the main pillar of his team for the qualification to two international events. They even won the Berlin Masters Stage 3 and were runners-up of VALORANT Champions 2021.

Chronicle is, without a doubt, one of the most determinant players that exist in the VALORANT competitive scene. Whether playing in the leagues, regional tournaments, or international events, Chronicle is always there, leading his team and giving them many options to take the victory.

Also, at only 20 years old, Chronicle is the only player in the VALORANT competitive scene who has several international trophies under his belt and, most importantly, led two different teams (Fnatic and Gambit) on their way to becoming the best team on the world.

While it is true that there are many incredibly talented players in the VALORANT scene today, there is no doubt that Chronicle can currently be considered the GOAT of Riot’s shooter.
