CadiaN could join Team Liquid

fragster Eduardo 5. October 2023

We witnessed a completely unexpected move in the Counter-Strike competitive scene in the last few hours. We are talking about one of the game’s legends, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, who was sent to the Heroic bench after 4 years of success and several important victories.

However, this does not mean that the Dane’s career is over, neither more nor less, as many teams would love to have him in their squad. This time reports point to Team Liquid, currently down to four players in its lineup after Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov was benched.

While nothing is confirmed, what is certain is that cadiaN won’t be spending much time in free agency. This AWPer-IGL is one of the smartest and most talented elements on the scene; sooner rather than later, he will announce his new home.

Reports claim Team Liquid is interested in signing cadiaN

According to popular Russian leaker Alexey “OverDrive” Birukov, gaming legend and former Heroic player cadiaN may join Team Liquid in the coming days. However, there is also talk that the Dane is evaluating other options, and NiP is the name that sounds the most. Recall that cadiaN was the mainstay of Heroic’s success in recent times in the competitive Counter-Strike scene.

We were all surprised that Heroic made this announcement because if they were going to renew their staff, we thought it would be around cadiaN. However, according to the official statement, both parties agreed due to “different visions about the organization’s future.”

In the 4 years cadiaN was Heroic’s IGL, the team was one of the best worldwide in the Counter-Strike competitive scene. However, in the last few years, the team struggled to perform well in major tournaments. As a result, the organization and the player did not agree on what “should be changed” for the team to succeed in CS2.

cadiaN and its next destination

There is no doubt that, right now, everything revolves around cadiaN’s future in the competitive scene. Let’s remember that Team Liquid’s experiment in becoming an international squad has so far disappointed, and they proved it by benching Rainwaker recently.

However, the possible arrival of cadiaN to Liquid would mean the squad would have to make some radical changes. First, let’s remember that cadiaN’s wish is to be the team’s main AWPer, so they would have to agree with Josh “oSee” Ohm. On the other hand, Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis would have to step aside as IGL of the team.

For now, there is nothing confirmed regarding cadiaN’s future. However, we are sure that we will have much more information about it soon.
