Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras is a 19-year-old Lythuanian who started playing CS:GO professionally in 2020. Without a doubt, he is one of those rare prodigies that have the potential to turn into a monster very early on.
We’ve seen something similar in the case of Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. But for Bymas, his early attempts at becoming a formidable CS:GO player were not entirely successful.
Bymas’ career
Bymas initially joined FaZe Clan as a stand-in and spent two and a half months competing for them. During this time, FaZe finished 3rd at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 and BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals.
After that, Bymas moved to mousesports (now MOUZ) and spent more than 18 months playing there. The results were decent but it’s hard to tell what could have been under normal conditions. During the pandemic, there were no LAN events and mousesports simply played a lot of online tournaments.
The best results they got were these:
- 4th place at ESL Pro League S12: Europe
- 1st – 2nd place at BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown
- 2nd place at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe
- 3rd – 4th place at cs_summit 7
- 1st place at Snow Sweet Snow #3
- 1st place at Flashpoint Season 3
- 2nd place at Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022
- 5th – 6th place at IEM XVII Cologne
All of these results indicate that during the pandemic years, mousesports were one of the best teams in Europe.
In August 2022, Bymas was benched and he spent the next five months training without competing. In February 2023, he finally left MOUZ and became a free agent. Now he has announced that he’s interested in competing again and said that he would love to receive the opportunity to prove himself.
I had a lot of time to evaluate my weaknesses and mistakes as a teammate and player since playing for mouz and I have never been this hungry to compete again. I'm still only 19 and have a lot of unfinished goals that I still want to accomplish in this game. If you're looking for… pic.twitter.com/IDqIoCHXh1

No doubt, he has the qualities necessary to be part of a tier-1 team. But who will sign him? Among the teams that seem to be unhappy with their current results, there is G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and probably Cloud 9. OG haven’t looked that great either in 2023.
This was a good moment for Bymas to make his announcement because there’s a lot of disappointment among the best CS:GO teams in the world. Competitors like Team Vitality, Heroic, and Natus Vincere might not be that unhappy, but a lot of other teams are. Even Astralis and Ninjas in Pyjamas could consider Bymas’ offer.
