Team Liquid’s player Samuel “Boxi” Svahn had to leave the Lima Major suddenly and unexpectedly because of a medical emergency. The spectators and fans were worried about the player and the team, but, as he says himself by now, he feels fine.

The team’s fans can even be quite proud and satisfied with their tournament run, as they even finished in second place. And this despite the fact that they started with their analyst as a substitute player. Their position four player Boxi has now been able to calm everyone down and announced that he will play again in the next Dota Pro Circuit Tour.

Boxi thanks for support

For the first time since the Major, Boxi has reached out on Twitter and given an update on his situation. At the Dota 2 Lima Major, he gave many fans a scare when he suddenly left before the tournament ended. The reason was a medical emergency, but what exactly happened is not known. Meanwhile, the team has continued to play with their analyst Mathis “Jabbz” Friesel.

Boxi has recently thanked the team for their huge support via Twitter post and shared that he had to leave the major to receive treatment at home. While Team Liquid’s Position Four player has not revealed anything about his condition, he has assured that he is coping and feeling good at the moment. After all, Boxi mentioned that he would be back, which reassured his fans a bit that he will be back and will not retire from the professional Dota league just yet.

Health is more important to Team Liquid

Even though Team Liquid only had a few games left to play, the health of their player was still more important to the organization. This is probably not something every organization does, even though it should be the standard. Instead of Boxi, Analyst Jabbz played and Team Liquid still made it to the finals. This incident makes you realize once again how important physical and mental health is, even for esports players.

It can easily happen that the load for the players is played down, because one could come to the wrong assumption that they only play one game. This shows us that even the pros are not immune to health problems and that you should always take care of yourself. Hopefully, Boxi can recover quickly, but it’s definitely easier with a team behind you!
