BLAST Premier Fall Groups group B predictions

BLAST Premier Fall Groups is right around the corner, and the matches in group B start on July 14. This will be the most exciting group to watch because all four competitors are strong enough to challenge each other, and some of them have recently made important roster changes.

It should be fun to watch Natus Vincere competing against Astralis with their new international roster. This is the first time in the last six years at least when Na’Vi don’t have a squad of only Ukrainian and Russian players.

Na’Vi’s challenge

Recently, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev said that he is a bit afraid of the language barrier but that he’s still confident in what the roster can accomplish. There’s no reason to doubt Na’Vi at this point but it will be hard to succeed against the likes of Heroic and Astralis with so many new players that still need to be integrated.

Another problem for Na’Vi is that their IGL is new. Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen might be an accomplished player, but he doesn’t know what it’s like to play with people of s1mple’s caliber, not to mention Ivan “iM” Mihai.

Over the past two years, s1mple has gotten used to competing as part of a purely CIS crew in which he was the dominant voice. Everything came relatively easily for Na’Vi, even though they didn’t always win.

Now it’s time to forge a new roster against powerful opponents. S1mple doesn’t like that process because it involves a lot of painful errors. But it’s something that he’ll need to go through.

Favorite teams

It’s not difficult to see that Heroic are the favorite team in this group of BLAST Premier: Fall Groups. BIG, Na’Vi, and Astralis are also strong, but they should be no match for a powerful roster like the one that’s led by Casper “cadiaN” Moller.

Heroic’s last roster change occurred more than a year ago. And before that, they hadn’t made any changes in more than 15 months. This team is very solid and everyone understands how the rest of the players think. At the highest competitive level, there is great strength in this kind of cohesion.

For Astralis, this tournament will be a huge test. Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander is no longer the IGL, and the two new players have not been tested against the world’s best teams. Things could work out but they could also go really wrong.
