Biggest game titles to be released in 2023

There’s no doubt that 2023 will be an excellent year for video game lovers. The first half of the year will see the release of two of the most anticipated remakes to date.

At the same time, we will see new titles that promise to mark a before and after in the sector. Although not all of them have a release date, some are still uncertain due to their delay of several years.

Here’s a selection of the biggest game titles coming in 2023.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: March 24, 2023

It has been one of the titles that have generated the most expectations, and it is entirely understandable since it is the remake of one of the best installments of Capcom’s well-known franchise.

Indeed, Resident Evil 4 was not the first franchise to introduce fully 3D scenarios (it was Resident Evil Code Veronica). But it was the first title to abandon fixed cameras and introduce an over-the-shoulder perspective, which allowed focusing more on the action.

Thanks to its excellent settings and the technical finish of Resident Evil 4, it became one of the franchise’s most loved and valued installments.

With Resident Evil 4 Remake, expectations have been raised. Not only because of the high bar of the original installment but also because it will be a next-gen exclusive title. This means Capcom has a golden opportunity to present an exceptional graphical finish.

Diablo IV

So far, there is no specific release month, but the important thing is that in 2023 it will finally reach the market after numerous delays.

Diablo IV is an intergenerational transition title. This means that it will no longer be exclusive to the new generation. With this move, Blizzard aims to reach more users, expectedly translating this into greater sales possibilities.

Based on the official trailer, Diablo IV will have a more severe and gloomy touch than Diablo III. With a renewed graphic engine, it gives a dark tone to everything that defines the atmosphere of the game.

Street Fighter 6

So far, no release date is known for the popular fighting game, only that it will be in 2023.

The predecessor title Street Fighter V has set the bar very high. Not only has it been a mass phenomenon, but it has also become the best-selling installment of the franchise.

At first glance, the new Street Fighter is mind-blowing. Not only for how Capcom squeezes the possibilities of the RE Engine to give more realism to the fighters and explosive emotion to animations but also for the new rhythm and the game dynamics.

The rhythm and explosion of movements on the screen are more typical of the mythical crossover sagas with Marvel, SNK, or Tekken than the main Street Fighter installments.

Starfield

Just like in the previous cases, the much anticipated Starfield is too without an exact release date. Bethesda is developing this project in Creation Engine 2, an improved version of the graphics engine that Fallout 4 used.

The Starfield universe is set some 300 years in the future. Humanity now lives among the stars and it is unknown whether Earth is still habitable.

The plot will start with something (a piece of information, a device, a person?) that is the key to unveiling everything, to clarify humanity’s greatest mystery. With that premise begins the last incredible journey of our species, an epic adventure about hope.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl: December 2023

The continuation of one of the best first-person action role-playing games surprised us with outstanding graphics. With an iconic Stalker gloomy atmosphere, it promises to captivate us from beginning to end.

The sequel to the famous post-apocalyptic FPS action videogame by GSC Game World will be released for PC and Xbox Series.

The Chernobyl exclusion zone is a unique and dangerous environment in constant change. Nevertheless, this land is home to riches: you can get your hands on priceless artifacts as long as you dare to claim them.

You can explore one of the largest open worlds, ravaged by radiation and teeming with mutants and anomalies. The decisions you make will define your own story and influence the future.
