The Game Changers Championship, the inaugural international women’s VALORANT event, is set to kick off on November 15, featuring a whopping $500,000 prize pool.

While the hype surrounding LOUD’s historic win at the 2022 Valorant Champions is still alive, VCT is getting ready to take fans on another exhilarating adventure with the inaugural Game Changers Championship. The eight finest teams from across the world have qualified for the World Championship after establishing their dominance over hundreds of other teams in the regional Game Changers event. The qualified teams will compete against one another in Berlin in a double-elimination bracket, with only one team claiming the title of the best female Valorant team in the world.

Participant team

Teams from six different regions—North America, Brazil, EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and East Asia—will compete in the event, but only one will be named as the top team in the world.

The eight participating teams are as follows:

  • Cloud9 White (NA)
  • Shopify Rebellion (NA)
  • Guild X (EMEA)
  • G2 Gozen (EMEA)
  • Team Liquid (Brazil)
  • KRÜ Esports (LATAM)
  • FENNEL HOTELAVA (East Asia)
  • X10 Sapphire (APAC)

Format, schedule, and prize pool

The Valorant Game Changers Championship 2022 will take place in front of a live audience at the LEC studios in Berlin from November 15 to November 20. The traditional double-elimination bracket structure will be used for the event, giving each team at least two chances to advance to the Grand Finals before being eliminated. All matches will be a best-of-three series except the Grand Final, which will be a best-of-five thriller. The competition will have a sizable $500,000 prize pool, with the winner receiving a whopping $180,000 and the runner-up receiving $110,000.

C9 White and G2 Gomez – A battle for supremacy

Fans have been eagerly awaiting a matchup between two of the most dominating teams in Game Changers, and now it’s time to see G2 Gozen and Cloud9 White go head-to-head in the biggest women’s Valorant events in history. C9 White have dominated the Game Changers VALORANT scenes in North America, having won all six Game Changers tournaments in the region across 2021 and 2022. Aside from the forfeit game against Immortals, the squad has only suffered a single Game Changers defeat—to Shopify Rebellion—since its debut in July 2021.

When it comes to supremacy in the EMEA region, G2 Gozen are the undisputed queens, having won three consecutive Game Changers tournaments between November 2021 and May 2022. Hopefully, both of the dominant teams will win their respective opening matches so that the long-awaited meeting between the juggernauts can take place in the second round of the event.
