Just a day after their disappointing exits from the International 2023, beastcoast has released its entire South American Dota 2 roster.

With The International 2023 (TI12) being officially over, Dota 2 teams can reflect on how they performed in the 2023 season and make roster changes to better prepare their team for the next competitive season. The American organization Beastcoat was the first to act, releasing the entire Dota 2 squad after getting eliminated from the International 2023 tournament.

Not long after the International ended, most of the Beastcoast players declared their status as free agents on their personal Facebook pages. They acknowledged the supporters of their former team and stated that they are willing to explore other opportunities inside and outside of their respective regions for the 202 season.

The exact reason for the players’ decision to depart Beastcoast has not yet been disclosed by any official authorities. Many in the esports world, however, are assuming that their exit could have something to do with the team’s lackluster showing at The International 2023. Beastcoast is dedicated to South American Dota even if they are letting go of their whole lineup. The organization made a hint on Twitter that they want to stay with their Dota 2 South American presence, maybe even with a fresh squad.

beastcoast’s performance in the 2023 season:

Beastcoast’s remarkable success throughout the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season earned them admission to The International 2023. They won the first two DPC Tours and finished second in the final Tour. However, they struggled to convert their regional victories into any sort of international success, with their best performance in 2023 coming at the DreamLeague Season 19, where they achieved a season-high sixth-place result.

The team didn’t appear to compete well in other foreign events outside of DreamLeague. They placed eighth and last in the year’s two biggest competitions, the Riyadh Masters 2023 and the Bali Major, respectively.

But the South American team finished ninth at the end of the season with 1040 DPC points and made it to The International, where they faced off against some formidable opponents in the form of LGD Gaming, nouns, Virtus. pro, and Gaimin Gladiators. Sadly, Beastcoast was unable to get past the group stage and missed out on the playoffs. The team concluded the Group Stage with a dismal 2–6 record, winning none of its games and going out of the competition early, placing 17–20th.

Beastcoast’s released Dota 2 roster:

  • David “Parker” Nicho Flores
  • Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera
  • Rafael “Sacred” Yonatan
  • Elvis “Scofield” Peña
  • Steven “StingeR” Vargas
