After training with the Kosovar team for more than a month, Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg, the two-time Major Championship winner, has officially joined Bad News Eagles.

Bad News Eagles have added Devilwalk to replace Klesti “stikle-” Kola, who left the team in early December owing to disagreements over their respective idea. Bad News Eagles, led by stikle-, qualified for this year’s PGL Antwerp Major and IEM Rio Major without outside assistance. In both competitions, the squad advanced to the Legends Stage, where it most famously defeated FaZe Clan in Rio de Janeiro.

The Swedish coach Devilwalk, on the other hand, had been hunting for a new squad ever since he departed the Swedish organization Savage in August 2022. The 30-year-old is the only individual in CS:GO history to have prevailed in a Major as both a coach and a player. With Fnatic, he won the debut Major at DreamHack Winter 2013 and later, as a coach, led Fnatic to another triumph at ESL One Katowice 2015.

Although he was mostly away from the field in 2022, he appeared as a commentator for NAVI’s Born to Be Brave charity tournament and served as an analyst at four CS:GO competitions this year, including the PGL Antwerp Major. Currently ranked 17th in the world, Bad News Eagles will debut with the new coach in the upcoming ESL Challenger League Season 44.

James Banks, an esports host, and interviewer, presently oversees Bad News Eagles. He recently denied reports that the squad was affiliated with GODSENT, which made an announcement about their return to CS:GO with an all-Swedish roster. However, the Kosovar team is still seeking an organization to play for.

Devilwalk has more to add to his legacy

The Swede was one of the five players to claim the first Major in CS:GO DreamHack Winter 2013. However, he switched roles a few months later to make place for KRIMZ, and the rest is history. With Devilwalk as their coach, Fnatic returned to the battlefield in 2015 and won the Major at ESL One Katowice as well as a few more notable matches over the years.

Fnatic continued to be successful even after he left, winning additional Major trophies and ensuring that their achievement gets written in the pages of history. Devilwalk, on the other hand, remains an active CS:GO coach, being in charge of the coaching department of many popular Swedish and international teams for the past few years. And while he hasn’t repeated his past achievements, he brings a wealth of experience to Bad News Eagles.
