Aurora to donate money to Turkish fund after controversial racist detail

The Turkish community has been very upset after seeing a logo that is a bit racist and shows unsportsmanlike behavior. So Aurora, seeking to apologize to the community, will donate money to a Turkish fund after using a controversial logo.

Last Thursday, a clash occurred between Eternal Fire and Aurora, who fought in the RMR Europe B for a place in the last CS:GO Major to be held in Paris. Aurora, a Russian team, took the victory in that match; however, the attention was focused on something other than the victory. Instead, an extra-sporting issue has grabbed all the attention.

On the tactics sheets of the Russian players, a logo could be seen that did not belong to that of their opponents; this gesture has not endeared them to the Turkish community. On the contrary, it has been considered a racist gesture, so the team has sanctioned the person responsible for this fact, and the money that the fine will be donated to a fund in Turkey that is helping the victims of the earthquake that besieged the country a few weeks ago.

Controversial logo on Aurora’s strategy sheets

It’s not uncommon for CS:GO players to discuss the strategies they have planned for matches with papers on the table. It is usually impossible to understand what is written on those sheets. However, in this particular case, it is clear that they wanted that logo to be visible.

The spectators of the confrontation between these two teams echoed a logo that could be seen on the Aurora team’s papers. However, a Russian team member decided to replace the fire in the logo with an image of a kebab with the words “Turkish Food.”

Perhaps the person in charge wanted to joke, cheer up his players, or create a story with the match. Unfortunately, however, it was a rather racist joke that has not been successful at all.

The Turkish community is upset with this racist joke

After seeing the logo on the Russian team’s documents, the Turkish community filled the social networks with insults and complaints about that organization. As a result, the team’s management was forced to state an attempt to calm the controversy quickly.

In the statement published by Aurora on social networks, the team condemns any gesture of xenophobia, racism, or any other form of hatred. In addition, the statement assures that the person responsible for the prank will be punished.

For now, they have not specified who is responsible; it could be the coach, the analyst, or the team member. But on the other hand, they state that the sanction will be donated to a Turkish organization to help those affected by the earthquake.

Despite the statement, the Turkish community is still very upset with this prank. Donating money does not change the racist detail they have had against the community of that country.
