Moves continue around one of the most successful organizations in the history of the CS:GO competitive scene, Astralis.

A few hours ago, the Danish organization, Astralis, announced through an official statement that they had completed their lineup for the 2023 season with Christian “Buzz” Andersen.

The new face but the same goals

Buzz arrives at the main lineup of such a critical team as Astralis at only 19 years of age. This player replaces Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen, who had played the role of a substitute in the squad for two months and now returns to the talent team.

Buzz is a player who is not very well known in the professional CS:GO scene. Moreover, we can say that he is a newcomer, as this is the first time he will be part of a top-level team. Previously Buzz had played under the banner of AGF Esport, Los Reyes, and Danish Masonic.

Peter “casle” Ardenskjold, coach of the team, noted that:

“In relation to the specific role on the team, we have some very specific requirements and have kept an eye on “Buzz” for a long time. He has some extraordinary qualities, and the deeper we got into the work with the new set-up, the clearer it became to me that “Buzz” not only has a lot of the energy and attitude we are looking for he also has the qualities to give the team a real boost. I believe Buzz will make a real difference”.

This announcement confirms all the rumors circulating on social networks for several weeks. These rumors pointed out that Astralis would sign Buzz after the failed attempts to bring Sjuush from Heroic and Staehr from Sprout.

About Buzz

Christian Møss “Buzz” Andersen is a Danish player only 19 years old and will debut at the highest competitive level in 2023 with Astralis.

Buzz is coming off a 2022 year in which he had outstanding performances with his former teams, Los Reyes and MASONIC.

With Los Reyes, Buzz reached first place in the Dust2.DK Ligaen Season 19 and REPUBLEAGUE Season 3: Closed Qualifier, two C-Tier tournaments. At the same time, he took first place in A-Tier’s REPUBLEAGUE Season 3.

Then he joined MASONIC in August, and in only two months, he managed to lead his team to win the Dust2.DK Ligaen Season 21, which ended last week.

Now, looking at Buzz’s stats, we can see that he has a spectacular 1.10 rating, 1.17 impact, and an average ADR of 80.9,

Buzz showed his excitement by saying:

“I am very happy and really proud. I have studied and looked up to the players on the Astralis team for several years, and in many ways, that has shaped me as a CS player. The fact that I can now call myself an Astralis player on a team with several of those players and in the role I’ve always imagined is just crazy cool.”

Promising future for Astralis

This signing completes Astralis’ clean slate for the 2023 season.

Recall that Astralis missed a Major for the first time in its history, which went down badly with the organization and, above all, with the fans. The lineup revamps also included the return of dev1ce and the promotion of casle to the head coach position.
