With the end of the IEM Sydney last Sunday, October 22nd, the doors for different movements in the CS2 competitive scene are open. FaZe Clan’s victory in the tournament does not mean everything is in order within the team, as recently different reports surfaced indicating that it seems he would leave the team.

This is, without a doubt, completely unexpected news for FaZe fans and the community. Let’s remember that this team has been together for several years and, above all, they have been at the top of the competitive scene. However, it’s no secret that esports is a business, and anything can happen.

Many will be wondering what the fate of Twistzz is, and it is none other than Team Liquid, a team that seems to be making a new renewal in its lineup after not having the expected success.

Reports claim that Team Liquid will sign FaZe Clan rifler Twistzz

According to a report by the web portal HLTV.org and Dust2.us, everything indicates that Team Liquid is ready to sign Twistzz in the next few days. Moreover, if this move is confirmed, it would be the return of the Canadian to what was his home for several years.

All of us who follow the CS:GO and, now, CS2 scene know what Twistzz can play at the highest competitive level. In his Team Liquid days, the Canadian helped them win an Intel Grand Slam after winning 4 Tier 1 tournaments out of 10. Also, at the time, that NA squad was arguably one of the best in the world and, of course, was one of the best in CS:GO history. However, nothing lasts forever, and in 2019, Twistzz announced his departure to FaZe Clan.

With FaZe, the Canadian rifler has enjoyed the same successes as in Team Liquid, as, let’s remember, he also managed to win the Intel Grand Slam with the team after winning the ESL Pro League S17 at the end of March 2023. As a result, we are facing one of the highest-earning Counter-Strike players in the game’s history.

Now, if this rumor comes true, there is no doubt that it would be a triumphant return for Twistzz since he comes from winning the IEM Sydney 2023 with FaZe and returning to the North American core that has always characterized Liquid.

Team Liquid and its disappointing season

Team Liquid surprised many in the competitive scene by leaving NA to jump to an international lineup three months ago. However, this adventure did not turn out as the team would have liked, as they did not have an ideal fit and performance, and the team played poorly in all the Tier 1 tournaments they participated in.

After these bad results in 3 months, there are many rumors about a total renovation of the team’s roster, which would start with the departure of Damian “daps” Steele. Similarly, recently, there have been rumors about the possible signing of Casper “cadiaN” Møller, one of the best IGLs in Counter-Strike and who led Heroic to the top of the CS:GO world ranking.

Liquid’s disappointing performance ended a disappointing run by failing to qualify for IEM Sydney, the first Tier 1 tournament in the CS2 era. Also, at the BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown, the team played with their Head Coach, daps, after the announcement that Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov was benched.

Right now, none of this is certain. However, if Liquid manages to sign Twistzz and cadiaN, there is no doubt that they would have a very powerful team and, above all, ready to compete at the highest level.
