After a myriad of game announcements, Apex Legends is the next game announced for the inaugural Esports World Cup, according to the Esports World Cup Foundation.

“When we started working on the Esports World Cup and announced it last fall, we promised to bring the community all the best games,” said Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, as reported by Esports Insider.

“This final batch of titles concludes this promise. We are incredibly excited and thankful to all the Publishers and Game Developers making this dream lineup a reality. Uniting and showcasing the power of esports and the esports community becomes the reality. Billions of players across the world play these games, and we can’t wait to bring all of those vibrant fan communities together in Riyadh this summer,” said Reichert.

Tournament information and bracketing are still to be released, as well as how the tournament organizers will ensure security measures following a hacking incident that happened during the 2024 ALGS North America qualifiers.

The Esports World Cup is part of Saudi Arabia’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy. “The Esports World Cup is the natural next step in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become the premier global hub for gaming and esports, offering an unmatched esports experience that pushes the boundaries of the industry. The competition will enhance our progress towards realizing the Vision 2030 objectives of diversifying the economy, growing the tourism sector, creating new jobs in various industries, and providing world-class entertainment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Previously, Fortnite, Rennsport, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, EA FC 24, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft II, Counter-Strike 2, Honor of Kings, PUBG Battlegrounds, PUBG Mobile, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, and other titles have been announced for the 2024 Esports World Cup.
