The Alliance.LATAM team started its project with 3 Peruvian and 2 Brazilian players. However, the latter’s departure and the low performance in the Dota 2 competitive scene have triggered Alliance’s decision to disengage from the team.

Alliance dissociates from its South American Dota 2 team

The esports organization Alliance has paused Dota 2 activities in South America. This decision was taken after two members left the Latin American team.

On the other hand, Alliance’s decision was also influenced by the team’s poor performance during the last tournaments.

Alliance, in a press release, states that problems related to roster stability after the departure of the original players led the organization to make this tough decision.

Alliance pauses Dota 2 activities in Latin America

The organization of Swedish origin started its activities in the Latin American Dota 2 competitive scene with the Hokori squad to have a representation in the region. Alliance and Hokori started working together after the team’s excellent performance during The International.

Originally the Alliance.Latam squad consisted of the following players:

  • Thiago “Thiolicor” Cordeiro (Brazil)
  • João “4nalog” Giannini (Brazil)
  • Brayan “Gardick” Cardenas (Peru)
  • Pablo “Vitaly” Roman (Peru)
  • Edward “Lumière” Valencia (Peru)

After the excellent performance in The International, the team did not have the same performance, so they could not meet the objectives of qualifying for international tournaments. In tournament I, the team was in third place; consequently, they did not qualify for the Lima Major. Then in tournament II, the team was saved from relegation after winning a playoff series.

These performances caused the Brazilian players to leave the team. However, according to Alliance CEO Jonathan “Loda” Berg, the organization did not agree with these departures.

On the other hand, the CEO comments that the goal in entering the Latin American competitive scene was to have a stable roster. In addition, they had the desire to keep the five original players. However, this could not be fulfilled; the first player to leave the team was Thiolicor.

With this player’s departure, the organization and the team agreed not to make changes to the original players. Then the team decided to remove 4nalog despite the agreement with the organization. According to the CEO, the team was not fulfilling the agreement they had initially joined.

Does Alliance say goodbye to the Latin American competitive scene?

Alliance is currently evaluating its future in the Latin American competitive scene. However, the organization continues with its commitment to esports in Latin America.

However, the organization has said goodbye to its Dota 2 staff. Loda states that the organization desires to return to the region to compete and demonstrate Alliance’s values and vision.

For its part, the three Peruvian players have reformed Hokori for the DPC Summer Tour. The change that will be seen in the team is the two new players.
