We have bad news for all those who like to cheat in MW2 and Warzone 2!

In the last few hours, Activision revealed that RICOCHET, its Anti-Cheat system, has implemented a series of improvements in the detention system and, above all, punishment for all cheaters. In addition, starting with Season 3, RICOCHET can detect those who use third-party hardware, namely the Cronus that many players with controllers use to nullify the recoil of any weapon.

Activision announces improvements to RICOCHET’s anti-cheat system

Through a statement on its official blog, Activision published all the improvements brought by Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s anti-cheat system, RICOCHET.

As we mentioned, detecting players who use hacks more easily will also prevent players who use devices like the Cronus from doing so. However, this is not all, because now, in addition to detecting cheaters more easily, instead of expelling them from the game, it will make them live a hell inside it. This is something that pleases all of us who love the COD saga.

New features of the anti-cheating system RICOCHET

Activision emphasizes that RICOCHET maintains its commitment to all players with a zero-tolerance policy for cheating in any mode. In addition, punishments will not only be for those players who use cheats but also for those who have benefited from them.

On the other hand, the Replay option has also been implemented, allowing the entire RICOCHET team to see all the matches completed in any game mode. That is when there are complaints or suspicions that players used cheats in the game.

Another added feature is, as mentioned, the detection of third-party hardware. There is no doubt that this is about the Cronus, which command players use to remove the recoil of any weapon in the game.

Punishments are to be implemented for cheaters

In addition to expelling cheaters, suspending their accounts indefinitely, resetting their accounts, or those kinds of punishments, RICOCHET will now be able to put those hackers detected in a game through hell.

CLOAKING

The first punishment that players detected with a cheat will receive in a game will be that they will not be able to see their opponents; that is, all legitimate players will be invisible to them. Nothing is more frustrating for a cheat than not seeing the opponents use his program.

DISARM

As you can imagine, RICOCHET will now have the ability to disarm players it detects using cheats. This means those detected players will immediately have their fists on their screens and cannot do anything but leave the game.

DAMAGE SHIELD

What’s the same is not cheating! Many of the hacks in MW2 and Warzone 2 cause players who use them to have infinite life. Now, if a player is detected using cheats, all legitimate opponents they face will have an infinite life shield, making it impossible to take them down.

Other punishments by RICOCHET

The information published by Activision also highlights that they will be much more rigid in banning players for different game behaviors. According to the press release, cheating to level up weapons, accessories, game exploits, or griefing other players will also lead to a suspension.

Undoubtedly, suppose this system is implemented as detailed. In that case, it will be a remarkable victory for RICOCHET, Activision, and all of us legitimate players tired of a cheater ruining our games. In addition, this may also affect those streamers who refuse to use the Cronus in Warzone 2, who may walk away from the game or demonstrate their true abilities.
