Brazil wins FIFAe Nations Cup

The last big winner of the FIFA season is Brazil. The South American country defeated Poland in the final of the FIFA 22 World Cup with a goal in the last few seconds. 

With this victory, the FIFA 22 World Cup ends. The event was held in Copenhagen’s Bella Arena, where the best FIFA player, the best team and the best country for 2022 were crowned.

The Netherlands was eliminated from the Nations Cup after an embarrassing defeat in the round of 16 against Sweden (1-3). The Swedish team then reached the semifinals where they lost to Poland (1-6). The other semifinal was played between Italy and Brazil. After two incredibly exciting duels (5-4), it was the Brazilians who were able to reach the Grand Final.

Brazil wins against Poland

The first game between Brazil and Poland was uneventful and ended 0-0, which gave both teams a break. After a ceremony, as a part of which former goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was honoured, the second and all-important final began. In that game, it was Poland who pulled the trigger first and took the lead.

In the second half, Brazil equalized after a good individual performance. Yet, the second game too seemed to end in a draw thanks to an offensive by Poland. While the crowd braced themselves for extra time, it was Brazil that decided the game. The South Americans scored twenty seconds before the end of the match to win the World Cup and with it the $120,000 main prize.

The team of Paulo “PHzin” Henrique, Gabriel “Crepaldi” Crepaldi and Klinger “Klinger” Castro now take over the reign from France, the winners from 2019. They are currently the best FIFAe nation in the world and also the first to lift the brand new trophy. “I’m proud to represent Brazil, I’m happy and I love it,” said newly crowned champion Crepaldi. His teammate PHzin was equally enthusiastic: “Thanks for all the support and the audience here, this is the biggest achievement of my career.”

Single Player and Club Tournament winners

In addition to the FIFAe Nations Cup, tournaments were also held by individual players and club teams. In the players’ individual competition, Germany’s Umut Gültekin secured the FIFAe World Championship title. At the FIFAe Club World Cup, the Spanish team Movistar Riders was the strongest.

 

The best Dutch performances were those of Levi de Weerd and Emre Yilmaz, with both players reaching the semifinals. Almost all of this year’s major FIFA tournaments have now been played, so we can now prepare for FIFA 23, which is set to be released this fall. The new FIFA season will start later this year and the best players, clubs and nations will again fight for glory over several months. More information will be released shortly.
