Abed was the first Dota 2 player to breach the 11.000 MMR barrier. Over the course of his career, he played for Execration, Digital Chaos, Fnatic, Evil Geniuses, and Shopify Rebellion. Now he’s been signed by Blacklist International, a SEA organization that seeks to dominate the regional scene.

At just 23, Abed is a highly accomplished player who has won more than $850.000 just from tournaments alone. He is a highly skilled midlaner who can play just about any hero that’s well-suited for this role. His signature heroes are Storm Spirit, Ember Spirit, and Void Spirit. But Puck, Invoker, and other options are also part of his arsenal.

Abed has been a top 50 player for a long time and is known for his stable performances in the mid lane. However, he’s not very good at taking initiative and making plays. For that he needs a great captain who can guide him.

When he was playing for Shopify Rebellion, Fly was largely responsible for dictating the team’s strategy and major tactics during the game. In some cases, this worked really well. In others, the team got outplayed.

These days, Dota 2 is a very sophisticated game and consistency is rare, even among the best teams. Shopify got poor results just when it mattered most, which is why Fly, Cr1t-, and Abed were removed from the roster after just one year.

Cr1t- decided to join Team Falcons, Fly’s situation is still up in the air, and Abed joined Blacklist International.

Blacklist’s situation

Blacklist entered Dota 2 a year ago with a decent roster composed of players like Raven, Tims, kpii, and Kuku. Only Raven is still part of the team. The other three were released and replaced with new and old names.

Abed and Gabbi are formidable SEA players from the Philippines, while Carlo, the new position 5 player, comes from teams like Execration and TNC Predator. He still needs to prove himself, but the odds of him doing a good job are high.

In 2023, Blacklist finished Tour 1 of Dota Pro Circuit in 4th place. In the second Tour, they were 5th. And in the third, they were 2nd. However, at the subsequent Bali Major, they finished 13th – 14th.

Despite not ending the Dota Pro Circuit in the top 12, the team came very close to qualifying for The International 12. However, they lost the qualifier’s Grand Final against Team SMG. Now that Abed has joined, their odds of thriving are much higher.
