Yesterday, the greatest CS:GO Polish team managed to qualify for the upcoming Gamers8 event, which will host a total of 16 teams and offer $1 million in prize money.

For any CS:GO competitor, a tournament like this is almost as important as a Major. Given the caliber of the participants, the only thing that separates Gamers8 from something like IEM Cologne or IEM Katowice is the duration and the prestige that comes with having an amazing history.

9INE’s achievement confirms the team’s prowess and clearly separates them from all the tier-2 teams that are trying to become one of the world’s best. The Last Chance Qualifier featured more than 200 competitors and the results of the best 32 of them can be seen by everyone.

At this point of the qualifier, 9INE still had five consecutive matches left to win, four of which were best-of-ones.

9INE’s run

The opponent encountered by 9INE in the Round of 32 was sYnck. The match took place on Anubis, and luckily for 9INE, Kamil “KEi” Pietkun was in great form. He finished with a KD score of 28-17.

Meanwhile, Andreas “aNdu” Maasing from sYnck had a great performance as well: 26-20. But the rest of his team played relatively poorly. The final score was 16-8.

In the Round of 16, 9INE had to play against a much stronger opponent, Team Spirit. This time, the score was 16-13 and 9INE came close to losing after leading 10-5. Once again, KEi was the man who carried 9INE to victory with his 30-21 KD score.

The Round of 8 was brutal and the match ended up needing overtime rounds to conclude. Aurora Gaming played really well and had a 9-6 lead after the first half. The final score was 20-22 in favor of 9INE. This time, KEi was completely shut down and finished with an abysmal score: 20-34. He was the weakest player on the server.

In the semifinals, 9INE encountered another strong team, 1win, and defeated them 16-13. KEi was back to his usual form and had the best rating 2.0 on the server: 1.41.

The Grand Final was played against SAW, who are an amazing Portuguese team. The match was a best-of-three series and 9INE won 2-1. Except for the second map, which was really hard for them (12-3 into 16-8), the Polish team didn’t have any problems. The scores on Ancient and Anubis were 16-10 and 16-8 in their favor.

Once again, their best player was KEi.
