The world’s largest and most diverse electronic tennis competition — Roland-Garros eSeries 2023 by BNP Paribas — has revealed the details of the sixth edition of its annual esports competition.

The €5,000 eTennis competition, organized by the Fédération Française de Tennis (FFT), will feature eight finalists from seven different qualifying tournaments, who will face each other in the Grand Final at Roland Garros on May 26, 2023, to determine the new eTennis world Champion.

Contestants from various qualifying events will take seven of the eight spots in the Grand Final. The eighth spot is booked for William Foster, the winner of last year’s Roland-Garros eSeries by BNP Paribas 2022, as well as the Australian Open Tennis Clash 2023 virtual tournament.

Following the switch to the mobile esports format in 2022, the event celebrating its sixth edition will again be played on Wildlife Studios’ Tennis Clash.

Tennis Clash is a mobile tennis game that has over 120 million users who downloaded the title. More than 238,000 players from 207 countries participated in the Roland-Garros eSeries organized by the FFT last year.

Tennis Clash CEO Dotan Arad commented:

“We are thrilled to announce the details of our 2023 competition alongside FFT. Continuing our last year’s successful partnership, we have created an even more exciting and engaging experience for our players.”

“By being part of the Roland-Garros eSeries by BNP Paribas, we are committed to providing our players with the best content and experiences, offering them the chance to compete at Roland-Garros, a dream come true for any tennis fan worldwide.”

The Tennis Clash app allows the public to register for one of the Open Qualification tournaments for free, allowing many players worldwide to participate in the competition.

According to the FFT, the eight finalists can participate in an esports workshop before the Grand Final begins. This should ensure every player’s preparation in order to give it their all on match day.

Roland-Garros eSeries Premier Partner, BNP Paribas is back

In 2023, Roland-Garros eSeries by BNP Paribas continues its partnership with Women in Games, a group committed to improving the gaming experience for women. In addition, a new partnership will launch with Handigamers, a French group that facilitates access to video games for people with physical disabilities.

In 2023, the FFT will welcome back BNP Paribas for the sixth consecutive year as a presenting partner and Renault as an official event partner. Their continued support has enhanced eTennis and expanded the number of elite eTennis tournaments held worldwide.
