The developers of one of the world’s most popular games, Konami, have announced the participants for the eFootball Championship Pro 2023. This list includes big names such as FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.
The eFootball Championship Pro is one of the most important esports simulation football title events available today, and this one will have eight clubs participating in total.

eFootball Championship Pro format
The format used in the eFootball Championship Pro is that each club must field a lineup of three esports players. Teams will play against each other in a round-robin format on Saturdays. This event, as we mentioned, will take place from February 11 and will run until June. The regular season matches will be three 1v1 duels.
However, all matches must be played in the “Dream Team” game mode. Scoring will be the same as in real football, i.e., win awards three points, a draw one point, and a loss zero points. The top six teams in the league will qualify for the knockout phase, which will be played in a best-of-three format.
The events will be held on LAN
For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, eFootball Championship Pro events will be held in a LAN environment, specifically at Konami’s Barcelona facility. According to the announcement, all the facilities have been prepared by the popular marketing agency Adrenal1ne, which operates the competition.
Moreover, this venue has a training area for the players and a VIP section for managers and guests.
Prizes
All clubs will receive some prize money depending on the ranking at the end of the season, but the exact amount is not yet known. In addition, players will receive individual prizes such as:
- The goal of the day
- Regular season MVP
- Knockout stage MVP
- Among others
Problems for simulation titles in recent times
It’s no secret that simulation titles, especially football titles, have struggled to build a solid fan base. However, eFootball and FIFA have managed to develop their esports ecosystems in the best possible way.
Last year, FIFA unveiled some changes to its esports ecosystem for FIFA 23. eFootball, on the other hand, announced another esports competition with major Italian clubs such as AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Save the date! The party starts this year on February 11th. #eFootballChampionshipPro IS BACK! 🔥#ForçaBarça 🔵🔴 https://t.co/2EKEBqDTJM
