The VCT 2023 LCQ Pacific is in full swing, and we have ZETA DIVISION and Team Secret both emerged as favorites to qualify for the Upper Bracket final. As a result, the winner of that match will be just one win away from qualifying for VALORANT Champions 2023.

On the other hand, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) and Gen.G fell to the semifinals of the Lower Bracket and will have to play for their lives in a BO3 that will define their continuity in the 2023 VCT season.

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the VCT 2023 LCQ Pacific.

ZETA DIVISION apply a reverse sweep against RRQ

Undoubtedly, the action started in the best possible way, as both ZETA DIVISION and RRQ have shown great play all season long. As a result, this match grabbed the spotlight in the community and did not disappoint at all. After RRQ won the first map, ZETA DIVISION woke up and applied a reverse sweep to stay in the Upper Bracket of the tournament.

It all started in Haven, RRQ’s map pick, where Indonesian David “xffero” Monangin led his team to victory. In the first half, RRQ showed an impressive level on their defensive side and took a 10-2 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, ZETA DIVISION could do nothing and fell by a crushing score of 2-13.

In the second map, Split, RRQ started winning the first four rounds of the first half. However, ZETA DIVISION woke up immediately to win seven of the next eight rounds to take the partial victory by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, ZETA’s offense managed to overcome RRQ’s wall and thus took the 13-8 victory.

Finally, in Ascent, we enjoyed a spectacular match, which had to be defined in 40 rounds, that is to say, in many Overtime rounds. ZETA DIVISION started very well in the first half with a partial victory by 8-4. Then, RRQ woke up and returned the blow to place the 12-12 and send the match to Overtime. Finally, after many Overtime rounds, ZETA DIVISION took the victory by 21-19 and, thus, stayed in the tournament’s Upper Bracket.

Team Secret crush Gen.G Esports by 2-0

The second match of the day left us with a crushing victory by Team Secret against Gen.G Esports by 2-0. There is no doubt that Team Secret was infinitely superior to the Korean squad, which could not do much in either of the two maps played.

It all started in Haven, Team Secret’s map pick, where we observed a practically impenetrable wall in the first half, which allowed Gen.G to have only three rounds won. Then, at the change of sides, Gen.G tried to get back on the scoreboard by winning the first three rounds, but this was not enough, and Team Secret took a crushing 13-6 victory.

On the second map, Ascent, history repeated itself completely, as Team Secret showed a very solid defense to take the victory in the first half by 8-4. Then, Gen.G managed to get 7-9 down on the scoreboard, and everything seemed to indicate that the team could pull off an upset. However, Team Secret, led by Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera, managed to take the victory by 13-8 and thus seal their ticket to the Upper Bracket final.
