According to different information in the last few hours, it is very likely that Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, the AWPer of Complexity Gaming, will not be able to participate in IEM Dallas 2023 due to problems with his visa.

Because of the different regulations that the United States has regarding travel limitations to many countries in the world, many esports players have some problems arriving at the different competitions in the country. Such is the case of many problems of Asian players who belong to LCS organizations or, in this case, a specific tournament to be held in the country.

Hallzerk to miss IEM Dallas 2023 due to visa issues

According to dust2.us reports, Complexity’s AWPer would have a lot of complications attending IEM Dallas due to his visa not being approved so far. While it is true that the organization still has time to resolve the situation, this is not the first time this has happened to Hallzerk in his career. Graham “messy” Pitt, the CEO of Complexity Gaming CS:GO, confirmed these reports to dust2.us.

As we mentioned, this is not the first time Hallzerk has had such a problem. The 22-year-old player from Norway was very close to being unable to play the RMR Americas in Monterrey, Mexico, due to similar problems. However, luck was on his side then, as he was granted a provisional passport while the original was at the Norwegian embassy. So, fortunately, Hallzerk could travel to Mexico and compete in the RMR without any problems.

On the other hand, when Hallzerk was part of Dignitas in 2020, a similar problem arose. On that occasion, the organization had to replace him with NaVi legend Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács.

No news on the Hallzerk case

As there is still no news due to the problems with Hallzerk’s visa to enter the United States, Complexity Gaming is looking for different options to replace him.

After signing with the team in July 2022, Hallzerk has been one of the key pillars of COL’s good results. While the team has not shown a great level in top-level tournaments, it finished within the TOP 8 of the IEM Katowice 2023. In addition, the team also managed to climb many positions in the HLTV world ranking and reached 8th place.

However, recently the team has not found a way to perform at its best. In the BLAST.tv Paris Major that is still ongoing, Complexity, after winning their first match against Team GamerLegion, fell to G2 Esports, paiN Gaming, and Team Liquid to be eliminated from the tournament.

Now, the team would be looking for an AWPer who can replace Hallzerk if the Norwegian does not solve his visa problems to enter the United States.
