Valkyrae appears in VALORANT scene in Mark Wahlberg movie

The famous game VALORANT was featured in the latest Mark Wahlberg comedy, as well as the well-known streamer Valkyrae.

Earlier this week, a Mark Wahlberg-produced action comedy titled The Family Plan was released. The Family Plan was released on Apple TV+ on December 15 and stars actors and actresses like Michelle Monaghan, Maggie Q, Ciarán Hinds and Zoe Margaret Colletti, among others. In one scene, Mark Wahlberg’s son can be seen playing VALORANT.

Wahlberg’s son, who goes by the name Kyle “Kyllboi” Morgan, competes in a professional match with Valkyrae against another team led by iiTzTimmy. Kyllboi manages to win the match in the final round and the crowd chants his name enthusiastically.

Obviously not many people knew about this VALORANT surprise appearance with Valkyrae and co. because when the clip was shared by Daniel J. Collette, a lot of people were surprised how something like this could pass them by. Very few people knew that the game would play such an important role in the comedy. On Monday, iiTzTimmy had shared a tweet showing himself and Valkyrae making a cameo appearance in the movie, confirming the reports.

Was VALORANT portrayed correctly?

In fact, VALORANT is captured quite well in the cutscene, and there are only a few minor flaws that a connoisseur might notice, but not the regular casual player or an amateur.First, Kyllboi and Valkyrae’s team play together and fight on Fracture.The fight features Chamber, Sage and Harbor. There are also a few transitions showing Chamber with his tour de force rifle before he uses his headhunter pistol, but other than that the gameplay is quite well presented. With Valkyrae and iiTzTimmy, the producers also had some real connoisseurs on their side, so it’s no wonder that it looked pretty professional.

It’s unclear how much Kyllboi’s professional gaming career has to do with the movie’s plot, as the film is about a former assassin turned family man whose past catches up with him. This is the first time that VALORANT has appeared and been the subject of a movie as a game, at least a big movie with well-known actors etc. Esports has long since celebrated its entry into the mainstream and therefore we will certainly see the game, as well as other titles, more often on the big screen or cameos from other influencers, streamers and professional players in the future.
