Uzi joins EDward Gaming

One of the legends of League of Legends worldwide, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao, returns to the competitive scene to play under the EDward Gaming banner in the LPL Summer Split 2023.

There is no doubt that this is excellent news for the game’s community, especially in the Asian region, which had high expectations around Uzi’s return. On the other hand, this is also very interesting for a team like EDward Gaming, who need a new spark in their lineup to return to the top of the LPL.

EDward Gaming announce Uzi as a new signing

EDward Gaming announced the signing of legendary AD carry Uzi through its Twitter account to play the LPL Summer Split 2023. The experienced 26-year-old Chinese player arrives on the team to face the big boys of the LPL, and very good things are expected from his duo with the also experienced Tian “Meiko” Ye.

Uzi was away from the scene for the last two years, as the last time he played a Split was in 2020, the year he retired from playing for RNG. However, this is not his first return to the pro scene, as the 26-year-old Chinese legend played nine games for Bilibili Gaming last season. However, he was benched and remained there for the rest of the season.

Uzi is regarded as one of the best players in the League of Legends scene who could never win a Worlds. Similarly, Uzi’s retirement in 2020 came due to health problems caused by the unrest and less time he devoted to LoL. In addition, he was also diagnosed with Type II Diabetes due to a terrible diet throughout his professional career in the league.
