TI-winning organization Tundra Esports has finalized its roster for the upcoming 2024 Dota 2 season. The lineup that won Dota’s most prestigious event disbanded after a poor performance at Ti12, with only Topson remaining on the roster.

A new roster was built around the two-time TI winner, with star players filling each vacant position. The Tundra Esports lineup, in order of positions, ahead of 2024:

    • Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko
    • Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen
    • Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov
    • Edgar “9Class” Naltakian
    • Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon

About The Tundra Players

Position 1 player Pure was recently benched from the BetBoom Team and found himself on his next journey with the Tundra roster. He is considered one of the world’s most mechanically skilled Carry players, though he’ll have to brush off some rust after playing in the Off Lane in 2023. Still, the 19-year-old seemed excited about his new opportunity:

“Well, guys, starting the new year as a carry! I’m sure this experience will benefit me. Thanks to all the BetBoom Team fans for the support; I’m not saying goodbye!”

MinD_ContRoL needs no introduction. He’s one of the most successful Dota players in the world, but many people may have forgotten about him due to the lack of success in Nigma Galaxy. MC has barely qualified for any tournaments with Nigma since 2020 but has stood in for teams such as OG and Team SMG and made appearances in Majors and Ti12.

9class is a hidden gem discovered by Tundra Esports. The young Russian player has limited professional experience, but in Tundra, he has all the resources to make a breakthrough.

The position four player has 12,000 MMR and is currently ranked 5th on the European leaderboards. He also played with MinD_ContRoL in The Dudley Boyz, a temporary stack that played together for less than a month.

Whitemon is the only regional import in the roster, hailing from Southeast Asia. Not many players from SEA have had opportunities to play abroad, and Whitemon is one of the few. The Indonesian played for TSM but became a free agent after the North American organization pulled out of Dota 2 entirely.

The support player has also played with Topson in T1 for the Ti11 Qualifiers. Overall, Whitemon hasn’t had the most remarkable career but shows promising potential.

How Do They Look?

The new lineup has a perfect mix of experience and hidden talent. On paper, it is nearing the definition of a “superteam”. The two TI winners have the opportunity to share their knowledge with these young prodigies. Still, Tundra has yet to announce their coach, who is an integral pillar of a Dota 2 team.

Tundra’s first gig will be the BetBoom DACHA Dubai 2024 WEU Qualifiers, where they will battle against teams such as Team Secret, Entity Gaming, and OG for a spot in the $1,000,000 tournament held in February. Let’s see if this Tundra roster can live up to the hype!
