Three Dota 2 heroes that deserve a nerf

A few years ago, asking for an Anti-Mage nerf would have been more of a meme than asking for a Crystal Maiden nerf. But in the current meta, heroes like Anti-Mage, Clinkz, and Spectre have become ridiculously overpowered.

You don’t need to be a Dota 2 professional to notice that these heroes, and others, are very easy to win with at almost any MMR. You just get a few items and if you’re not thousands of gold behind the enemy cores, you’ll just win because of the raw numbers.

When your hero’s natural stats and item build lead to much better numbers than those of your opponent, even when networth is perfectly even, that’s a sign that your hero is overpowered.

Why Anti-Mage needs a nerf

Anti-Mage can now be played using Vanguard and Radiance. This build offers not only farming speed and lethal damage in team fights but also excellent survivability against physical damage. The fact that a lot of that damage is absorbed or avoided completely thanks to the miss chance makes AM a tough hero to deal with.

His natural armor is high anyway and his magic resistance is huge. So how do you kill him before he kills you with his illusions? It is extremely difficult and a good AM team will take advantage of this.

Why Clinkz needs a nerf

Clinkz has everything he needs to be a terrifying carry: surprise, movement speed, HP, and damage. His ultimate, combined with the rest of his abilities, gives him a permanent advantage.

Most carry heroes are scary to play against while their utlimate is active. But in the case of Clinkz, his ultimate is always active. And he can do whatever he wants because he’s constantly moving invisibly at maximum speed. Playing against a hero like that is very challenging.

Why Spectre needs a nerf

Spectre is completely broken right now and without some proper nerfs, both to the hero as well as his item build, her win rate will remain unnaturally high. It’s very hard to lose with Spectre once you’ve bought yourself a Blade Mail and a Manta Style or an Aghanim’s Scepter.

Your team needs to completely lose the laning phase and all the tier 1 and tier 2 towers before the 20-minute mark, so that your ability to farm is greatly diminished. Otherwise, you’ll just buy your items and win the game almost on your own, which shouldn’t be possible.
