WePlay AniMajor is the second Major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine between June 2nd – 13th. And most of the teams that will be directly invited to The International 2021 will be determined by its results. The prize pool, just like in the Singapore Major’s case, will be $500,000, or half of the usual amount.

WePlay AniMajor Details

WePlay AnyMajor features 18 teams from 6 regions. Some of these teams will start the tournament in the Wild Card, others in the Group Stage, and others in the Playoffs.

Wild Card Teams

  • Team Nigma
  • Team Secret
  • Vici Gaming
  • Invictus Gaming
  • Execration
  • AS Monaco Gambit

The big favorites here are Nigma, Secret, and Invictus Gaming. Vici Gaming is also strong enough to contest them, but the real battle will most likely take place between these 3. And from what we’ve seen in recent months, Nigma and iG have a big advantage over Secret.

Group Stage Teams

  • Team Liquid
  • LGD
  • TNC Predator
  • Team Spirit
  • Evil Geniuses
  • beastcoast

Assuming that Nigma and iG will advance from the Wild Card, the 6 teams that will most likely survive the Group Stage are Liquid, Nigma, PSG.LGD, Evil Geniuses, Invictus Gaming, and beastcoast.

Playoffs Teams

  • Alliance
  • Team Aster
  • T1
  • pro
  • Quincy Crew
  • NoPing e-sports

The Playoffs of WePlay AniMajor will be chaotic, because there’s not a single team among the top 12 that is guaranteed to win. Almost everyone is strong enough to contest the remaining competitors.

In some cases, such as Alliance’s, it’s not clear at all if the form shown during the second season of DPC 2021 is still relevant. Given the fact that Alliance had a huge advantage during the race as a result of being the only team that used the active coach rule, their number 1 position in Europe may prove to be irrelevant at the international level.

If I had to pick 5 favorites, I would go with Evil Geniuses, Nigma, Aster, Virtus.pro, and Quincy Crew.
