While it is true that the offseason of the League of Legends competitive scene has not yet started, some teams and players are making changes right now.

This time, Team Vitality is announcing that Luka “Perkz” Perković is leaving the organization and is now an unrestricted free agent. As a result, one of the most important, decorated, and talented mid-lane in the EMEA region is open to listen to offers from any team.

This was an open secret, as there were many rumors about a renewal of Team Vitality’s roster. However, it is still painful, as the player played under the Vitality banner for 2 years.

Team Vitality officially announces the departure of Perkz

Through a post on their Twitter account, Team Vitality shared the news that Perkz is no longer part of the organization and is now an unrestricted free agent.

Earlier this week, rumors began that Perkz would be looking for a new home in 2024. However, it was not until yesterday, Friday, October 27, that the organization officially confirmed it.

As we see in the post on Twitter/X, Team Vitality said a regretful farewell to the 25-year-old Croatian. They also thanked Perkz for everything he gave to the organization for 2 years and wished him much success and luck in his future endeavors.

Recall that Perkz came to Team Vitality before the start of the 2022 season to replace Adam “LEADER” Ilyasov. At that time, the Bees looked like they would be the best team in the LEC in 2022, but things didn’t go as planned, and they had to make different changes in the lineup. However, despite the team’s poor results, Perkz was the face, leader, and captain who stayed at the helm through 2023.

Team Vitality in 2023

In the 2023 LEC season, Team Vitality got off to a strong start, as they displayed a mind-blowing level of play in the Winter Split to finish in first place in the regular season. However, all the hard work, momentum, and dreams ended in the Group Stage, as they could not advance to the playoffs.

Then, they made it through the regular season and the Group Stage in the Spring Split but only secured third place in the playoffs. Finally, things took a turn for the worse in the Summer Split, as both Perkz and Vitality played below standards and were eliminated in the regular season.

Renewal in Team Vitality

There is no doubt that Perkz’s departure from Team Vitality only makes us think that it is the beginning of a complete overhaul of the team’s roster for 2024. In addition, the team needs to build a solid squad as soon as possible to achieve the necessary synergy to position itself at the top of the LEC.

On the other hand, Perkz, now that he is a free agent, will surely arouse the interest of many teams that need a mid-lane with experience and, above all, winning blood.

As we mentioned, the offseason of the League of Legends competitive scene has not yet started, as it usually begins in December after the conclusion of Worlds. However, many teams want to get ahead of it by trying to have a solid lineup that will allow them good preparation for the next season.
